Hot Toys, AvP:R figures in hand

I got all three yesterday, nice big box from FedEx, I have to say I'm blown away by the PreAlien, Wolf comes in a reasonably close second and the Alien is pretty cool, my least favourite of this bunch and it has to be said my least favourite Alien so far, but that's based more on my view of the actual creature design, it's still a great figure!
I worked late and almost have the PredAlien review ready, just need to take some better pics and it'll be ready, in the meen time here are some pics.
The Wolf paint apps are more yellowish than previous Preds, but it's more of a buckskin, beige tan, certainly not 'banana yellow' as has been said over on SSF. And his facial paint apps are second only to he Elder (in fact in some respects, because of the more visible open side of the mouth and the scaring they could be said to be better), and the milky eye is carried out fantastically.
I think I'm gonna thread some fine string from the front of the one sleeved netting shirt under the groin round the back to hold it down, but it's pretty much good to go, I need to go play around with them some more though!

Oh no ! They're already available !
And I've so many figures to buy on my wishlist. I wasn't expecting those to be available until a few months...

Anyway, I'm glad you received your Big box Wookster. They seem to be the standard HT quality and the Predalien is really impressive in term of size and design.

PS : an OT question : your Edler Pred 2 has a mask. Is it something you added ? I mean, I though this pred. was sold without a mask.

Yeah, I picked it up on ebay as an extra for him, thought he needed one, even if his face is too cool to put it on. I think it's from one of the AvP elders, got it for about $7 or $8 a while back.

Nice, I like how you can still see a bit of Wolf's pupil in the milky eye, it's a nice touch. I see what you mean abut the netting shirt riding up, that's an easy fix though. Pretty sweet overall!

Thanks for the great review, Wookster! I brought home the trio after work today and still have them in boxes. My expectations for the hybrid weren't too high, but it looks majestic in your photos. I can't wait to open them.

Wow!

In hand, tooth, foot and claw! The warrior looks nicer than the Aliens ones did and the Predalien looks rather impressive. They're definitely better than I thought they'd be and some reviewers may say they're actually better than the movie itself.

woah..didnt know Wolf had a milky eye.I think I need a change of spectacles when I watched that movie.

what do you think of the hip joints on the Wolf Pred Wookster? I was impressed with how solid they are as well as how poseable -

Yeah, found them to be just as poseable as the old style legs, and I know it's not to everyones taste, but I love his smaller frame. He's gonna look cool next to the other Preds. The AvP's are built like Tyson, Pred 2's built like Ali and this guy's like Bruce Lee. Kinda like the little guy down the pub you just know you don't wanna mess with.

great pics of the joints - and you're right on the build of the figures...the Wolf Pred is very much like Lee - you don't know what hit you until you're already dead...or maybe that's Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star

I like what they did to the body of the Pred but overall like the movie Im not impressed with these figures.
I think Ill pass and wait for the P1 and Alien figures to come out

Hmm,

The knee joints on the Predalien (Sounds awkward, Pralien sounds better.) look a bit odd to me and I'm sure they weren't like that on the original.

Which figure(s) did the 1/6th Facehuggers come with, I like the look of those. I also noticed that you got those HT mini kits as well (I spotted the egg cases.), I have Hicks, Drake and 2 Aliens and the Marines were pains in the butt to put together. Drake's smartgun is sooo fragile!

The knees actualy have a rubber sheath over the joint and aren't too noticeable, I took the camera down low for those shots, so you wouldn't normally see that much of them.
And yeah I got the Snap-Kits pretty much just for the eggs, I went for three different Aliens (I kind of like Aliens, if you hadn't guessed). The face hugger came with the AvP:R Alien drone and has poseable legs. You also got one with the Grid and brown AvP Aliens I think. Mcfarlane also included a few with their 12" Alien, but they were non poseable.
