More pics to go, "it doesn't look like Harrison Ford".

Mine's fully paid for, just planning how to distress the outfit.

Man, that looks pretty good - love the detail in the skin texture:) I sure do wish I could paint like that:)

I did just that...LOL.

I do see an older Harrison Ford in the 'Trevor' sculpt, but i don't think it is the 'holy grail' that many think it is. I also recognized that many Trevorsexuals are comparing a prototype against a mass produced item, is that a valid comparison? I don't know how much influence Trevor has in all of the Harrison Ford produced by Sideshow, but I am not impressed with the Sideshow stuff at all.

Meanwhile, I've scouted a location to do my Indiana Jones shoot, looking forward to it.
I agree with you. As far as that top proto sculpt it is absolutely breathtaking. The absolute best sculpt of HF I've seen. However the lower hat and neckless sculpt is not in it's league. Trev commented on his board that they had to cut off Harrisons head at the forehead. It's not clear to me if that was Trevor's decision or someone else's. Does anyone know if Trevor himself sculpted the hat or if that was someone else's job. In addition to the poor paint apps and the loose body, IMHO the head on the final SS fig was TOO BIG and I was greatly dissapointed that the hat could not be removed or repositioned. I know I'm being repetative in saying I never understood the logic of including a hatless head and a hat that could not fit on it.

Getting a hat to sit right is difficult as the hair doesn't compress. HT should have made the hair removeable and have 2 versions available, with or without hat. It also allows access to the PERS. Very much like what Enterbay do with their heads. Not that HT would copy Enterbay or anything. :wink
... :dunno uhh.. HotToys DID do that, there ARE two hairpieces. One for hatless display and the other one for the hat.

maybe your talking about the indy from sideshow and not hottoys
:knock oh boy...... no.... Raiders Indy had a light to medium brown holster.. they gave him one that looks more like TOD or LC... the Raiders belt had a metal keeper not a leather one... and I could go on.... if you are going to charge this much then get the details right....

So I have seen the photos of the actual mass production HT headsculpt today on eBay where parted out Indy is being sold. I dare to say it is the worst Indy headsculpt around - and it is especially sad as it is a quality headsculpt like HT always does it just depicts someone else than Harrison Ford as Indy. The headsculpt is so much worse than the prototype - how can it happen? This was the most sure purchase for me this year and now I think I will pass... :(

Umm, that's EXACTLY what HT did though :think

Sorry to take Jimmy's quote out of its context, but I think it's a point with broad implications. Whether it's the Sideshow hat, the Hot Toys jaw, or whatever...these are licensed products that must go through an approvals process, and the sculptor has a project manager or supervisor to please. God only knows how many times the approvals process broke the sculptor's heart, whether we're talking about Trevor or Arnie. We just don't know what went on behind the scenes, and the sculptor can't say anything that would reflect poorly on the licensor or the collectibles company that hired him.

The question is, where can I get my SS Indy sculpt painted with a HT paint job? Anybody that can answer that question probably can come up with a perfect Indy sculpt.

My first post so don't be too harsh, I've only lurked here for a couple of years now. I wonder how much this figure would've cost without PERS, without the Idol base, and without the map room attire? I would be a little surprised if anyone is actually going to display their Hot Toys Indy with the map room clothes. At a cheaper price (maybe 175) without all of the extra accessories, this figure would be OK. The more I look at it in the pics, the more I think it does actually look like Ford. At 225 - 250, there could at least be a seperate head with a 'grin' expression. I like the figure so I will get it but I do wish it was a bit cheaper.

:agree

I've never used any of the fancy display bases with any of my HT figures. They got it right with the TDK Batman, normal version for most people and the DX version for those with deep pockets. I would buy Indy no question if it was cheaper and without all the bells and whistles.
