I'm looking for ideas about existing kit that could be bashed into these VN-era SASR pouches, or the dimensions of the real thing so I can have a crack at making some. Any help gratefully received.

(Al, you MUST have got your boxes unpacked by now? Any chance of measuring yours please? )

Thanks,

David.

There is nothing in 1/6 like them - except maybe 58 pattern pouches - but they are all the wrong size/shape. US gear is constructed totally differently so it just doesn't look right and are still the wrong size(eg: converted M1956 pouches).

If you were to scratchbuild a set and wanted to actually put mags in the pouches, you could just make them to fit 4 x 20 round 1/6 scale mags and deduce the relative dimensions from the photos.

Methinks the Barracks Sgt should have made these pouches with the Falklands "SAS" figure... :fit

edit: OK so none of that is really very helpful, oh well... ;)

They were for M16 20 RD mags. The F1 or 37/44 pouches were used for SLR mags although 2 SLR 20 RD mags will just fit but its a bugger of a job to get them in and out. From memory 4 mags a pouch.
Cheers
Al
