I would really love to do a gunny team at guadalcanal
using one of these or something similar made in metal.

The Colt or Browning preferred. But the Vickers could work if there was no other choice.
I just got finished watching the Pacific & Band of Brothers again. I really like the gunny teams in the Pacific
and would like to do some figures. So those machine guns are critical for those type of figures.

I've seen a bunch on ebay, but I was really hoping for a metal one and have not found it.
I was hoping not to go the custom route.

I actually found this one, but looking at the pictures, I'm thinking it's not really all metal.
I'll email theme to find out.

RR 1/6 Scale Full Metal M1917 Machine Gun Set for SS098 Eighth Route Army Gunner | eBay

So chime in if you know of one. Or you have the one in the link and verify it is metal.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure DID made one with their WWII British Officer/Tommy "Brown" deluxe box set, seen them loose on eBay in the past, Modellers Loft also had the entire set going cheap a while back, think it had some degradation problems.

The 8th Route weapon is a Chinese manufactured version, as is the tripod. I believe you'd have to do some repainting and maybe some modifications, to make it a USMC gun. If you are going for a PTO Marine machinegun, the British Vickers wasn't used by them.

The Soldier story Browning is all metal, at least the USMC version was, I don't think they would have changed it for the Chinese figure.
I've got the 8th Route Browning and it's all metal and the action is functioning, plus the ammo box is wood.

Okay. I'll try this one.

I have no issues modding it. Only reason I said Vickers is it's close, so with some
good amount of mods, it would do if had no other choice.

Thanks
