I came across some old photos of a model ship my father built when he was is college (late 1940's). It is a 1:50th scale scratch build model of Henry Hudson's Half Moon (1609). I remember seeing this when I was a kid. It had fallen into some disrepair by then (rigging issues and a cracked mast) My dad didn't seem to be much interested in repairing, so it stayed that way stored in the attic. In the late 70's he donated it to his old high school to restore and keep.
I remember him mentioning that he made the block and tackle pulleys from cut lolly pop sticks. Which would make him chuckle.
I had forgotten about this ship until I came across these photos. I am thinking of contacting the school to see if they still have it.
