I was checking out pictures of the little border dispute between Georgia and Russia and came across these pictures of Georgian soldiers. Looks like they are wearing MARPAT.

Makes sense, they want to be part of NATO, have troops in Iraq (until now), and have received training from the US Marines.

Yep, I've noticed a number of former Soviet republics and other former Warsaw Pact nations using US- style camouflage over the last decade or so.

Since I live in an area where there's a pretty major presence of all the services, I get to see the different uniforms up close on a regular basis (except for desert MARPAT). To my eye, MARPAT is the most effective of the bunch. Even my local Sheriff's Dept. SWAT team wears a version of it. It was a neat surprise to see the Georgian army using it in the news photos today.

You just have to love the muzzle discipline of the guy on the left, with his barrel stuck under his chin. That Marine next to him should slap his hat off.

Yep, "familiarity breeds contempt" - unfortunately this is way more common than it should be. I remember a bud's framed pic of his bunch of Blackhawk pilots out in the field. When the camera came out, so did their sidearms (S&W revolvers). Scary to see where many of them were pointed...

it might be MARPAT but i bet it doesnt have the tiny EGA's (Eagle Global Anchor) mixed in the pattern

tHe Geogian Army was trained by the U.S. so it makes sense that they would wear MARPAT

I think that it was giving to them as a part of a aid package..I saw pics were the Georgia soldiers with a rather large shipment of Bushmaster rifles..Its funny because russian soldiers stole large amounts of MARPAT and were wearing it when the left Georgia

I wonder if it's actual MARPAT or the Digi-2 pattern that doesn't have the EGA.
