A little scene I made after seeing this facepool head sculpt.

1944 Basic training - Rifle range day

"You will now take one 8 round clip out of your ammo pouch."

"Insert it into your rifle."

"And let the bolt go forward."

And with that order there was a loud scream of pain.

BEWARE the Garand bolt - very painful for your thumb!

In real life the Garand thumb was not as common as it's made out to be,I have two rifles and have fired thousands of rounds over the last 30 years, and never once have I got bit.
It was more common in training when the rifles got wore out and they were too busy getting the guys ready to go over seas to rebuild them.
My father in law who served during Vietnam said they still had the problem when he served, they were using WW2 vintage rifles at the training camps!
Once he knew he wasn't going to get bit by my guns he was in heaven out at the range!

When I saw Garand Thumb, I was thinking something totally different haha.

Well done figure.

Me too. I was thinking that they made a figure of "Garand Thumb" from YouTube, plaid flannel shirt and all...
