Very sad.
Let me say though as someone who loves dogs dearly it is difficult to believe a dog (any dog) would consciously take a bullet for anyone. Will a dog protect someone from an obvious physical/bodily attack? Yes, of course but this is a cognitive stretch that is too much to buy. Dogs are capable of amazing things for sure but....:think...I don't know...

Wow. I feel for that family. So sad. The punishment for this crime... I am imaging what I would want to do - good thing I am not in charge of dealing out punishments.

Taking into account the firing on a car with a woman and a child in it is bad enough, killing a dog in the process. I hope they catch the shooters.
