I have still very new to the hobby and I have read many posts around the web where people say they keep that figures packed away, I want to have mine out one display if I am going to be investing money in them I cant see keeping them in box's in a closet. I was wondering what stands/display cases people use who display theirs?

I'm a displayer too. I only keep stuff in the box because there's no more room to display!

I use Y-stands from Cotswold (Cotswold Collectibles - 1:6 Scale Action Figure Specialist Since 1989). They give the figure support close the figure's center of gravity and they are reasonably priced if you buy them in bulk. Some members use the foot stands Dragon used to pack in all their figures, but they are not reliable. They grip on the boots, but if your hobby display room warms up the boots become pliable and boom a shelf diver.

Another low/no cost way to display and avoid shelf divers is to line your standing guys up on the back of a shelf and then box them in with 1/6 sand bags (or even book ends) on the sides of the shelf or with figures kneeling or sitting with their legs hanging off the front of the shelf. This helps keep the guys in back supported if they start to lean or try to fall.

Another display option I see often is using the Detolf brand display cabinet from Ikea. These have 4 shelves you can stand 6-9 figures on each shelf and it is contained all round by glass. You just have to watch those shelf divers when you open it up. Some hobbyists run fishing line across the support bars in the front of each of the shelves to keep everyone contained when opening/closing the cabinet.

Hope this helps.

I create diorama scenes and display in mostly acrylic display cases. For me, it's easier to find a case to fit an existing shelf or space rather than purchasing a multi shelf display unit.

I use a detolf from Ikea. There are lights you can get from Ikea as well that look fantastic all hooked up. Quite good for space as well, depending how on you set it up and how much detail you want to see on your figures you can fit between 2 - 5 figures per shelf, and there are 4 on each detolf.
