Anyone seen this set? The Owen is for sale on ebay, I wonder how good (or bad) these are?

I understand the actual Aussie SLR has a different shaped forearm, with 3(?) round vent holes.

You're right about the 3-hole fore-end, Mike, and I don't see a flash eliminator:

Wrong angle of the Owen stock. But still pretty nice.

Aussies had both two and three hole variations though three was more prevalent.
The Owen is a bit wonky but probably salvageable.

The scale on these seem a bit off too. The SLR looks too small or the others are too big.

The Australian full wood stock (Two slot) was entirely different in cross section and shape to the Laminated (Wood on stamped metal - 3 hole) guards. The origninal two hole (slot) was triangular in crosssection and had a complex wood grip that extended below the Gas regulator. See top gun in this image:
This is the later three hole laminated guard:

My first issue SLR was one of these and I much preferred it for the range as you could get a much better and natural grip on it. it was also better for Drill as the metal pressing for the front screw didn't lacerate your fingers when shouldering arms.

Actionman the Fn does have a flash eliminator, it is a slotted flash eliminator. You can see daylight showing through near the top edge of the flash eliminator. I wish they would make a Canadian FnC1A1, the second one down in Spanner 28 top picture is an FnC2 semi and full auto rifle where the one above it is only semi auto. When I was in the army we used to slip a paper match in the sear or put the change lever from the C2 in our C1's to make them fire full auto. The only problem with using the paper match was the Fn would continue firing till all the rounds in the mag were fired but with the change lever it worked the same as the C2 and would stop firing once you released the trigger.

The second one is actually an Australian L2A1 AR which is pretty similar. These were issued to non infantry Units as support weapons/LMG's and served until replaced by the F89 Minimi

When I was in the army and a section commander each section had a FnC2A1 as an LAR(light Auto Rifle). My section consisted of Section Commander(SMG), Rifleman 1-7(FnC1A1), LAR(FnC2A1), and 2IC(2nd in command, FnC1A1)
