DiD (Dragon in Dream) Rommel Figure

Face is a bit off, but still a good likeness - especially for the price it will come for.

I dislike the headsculpt, DID should concentrate thier next figure something not german. No more nazi figs, what about a WW2 Russian paratrooper or Cold War era Russian paratrooper. I really like DID's AK's. Anyways it's also disgraceful to label Rommel as Waffen SS. :mad :razz

The likeness escapes me, plus he looks like a pinhead. They'd be well-advised to redo the sculpt, and make it up to scale with the body.

He's not labeled as Waffen-SS, but rather Afrika Korps.

I hate to be the good looking one at an ugly contest, but I like him. The pinhead issue bothers me but otherwise he looks great!

Rommel- OK, rework the sculpt. But,, no more SS or more specifically Machinegunners- Here's what we need- No high ranking officers, maybe a Heer NCO,with StG, tan-water smock, "good-wool" (Karl Stroop material) uniform, etc...

I agree. Great looking figure, but the head really does look too small. To be honest I think Rommel is long overdue for WWII historical buffs. He deserves a properly scaled noggin.

Yeah punkingdog, They changed it last night from Waffen SS to AfrikaKorps last night. I gussed they listen to me.

Credit to you then, that was wrong on several levels.

DML has already done two Afrika Corp Rommel's. Much harder to find Atlantic Wall version. I think they goofed up here. I will pass.

I will pass, too. I'm waiting for DiD's John Coleman. I just don't like Nazi on my shelf.

I have the first 1:6 (I think) Rommel by DML. The sculpt is decent though not the best - at least better then this DiD offering. Probably I'll still have to get this just for the uniform and gear for upgrading of my old DML one.
DiD has never been very innovative on the head sculpting department. If you look closely enough, most of their generic soldier sculpts are very similar to one another.

I've noticed that too, they all seem to be sculpted by the same person, or tweaked from the same mold, so they all do look very similar to each other. Eyes, mouth, jaw and cheek lines are usually similar, regardless of period or affiliation.
