DAMTOYS DMS004, "The Legendary Inventor". CELEBRITY ICON,2017 Original Hand Sculpted Art Editions by Sid Maurer

"The Legendary Inventor" is the title of DAMTOYS DMS004. It is officially licensed from the series,
"Stylized Original Portraits" which is included in the Celebrity Icons Archive of Sid Maurer original Artworks.
This is a part of an ongoing series of celebrity collection of original , limited edition, signed and numbered pieces .

-Highly detailed head sculpture

The promo says "This product has worldwide copyright global licensing" -- interesting, as the last attempt at Jobs was a rare case of a figure successfully blocked. Now if that's not true, or if they're being cute and they licensed Jobs personally but not Apple, or vice versa, or just the artwork of Sidney Maurer, that's another story.

he's an apple icon, i dont think this will get far unless dam is willing to get apple's permission. i suspect though they might not have to after the Samsung debacle. who knows...apple could have pulled a lego, and got cozy with the govt, by having a factory of size there.

Yeah i think that's just it ... they got the license to produce an action figure rendition of Sid Maurer's artwork.
DAMmit, i want that Le Corbusier chair!

Yeah, I am noticing now that the attribution on each photo is "2017 Sydney Maurer Homage Artwork Homage Artwork of Steve Jobs" which makes it pretty cute to say "This product has worldwide copyright global licensing." Actual licensing from Apple would have shown an Apple logo for sure.

Personal Steve Jobs licensing is a different issue as to whether or not his family feels that he was in the business of being paid for endorsing or appearing to endorse products. There's a question also whether Sidney Marurer had any license or permission, and if so, did it give him the right to sub-license it downwards to DAM.

The other issue is the items -- Desktop and laptop are old, non-branded, and probably generic enough -- whereas if they had done an IPhone it might just get seized at the border for being "fake IPhone," as they don't care if it's non-working or not in real scale. By far the most controversial item is the partly bitten apple -- that's obviously meant to be the brand logo, because computer programmers don't actually eat apples.

Pricing and release information was announced.

The release date is approximately 3RD QTR 2018.

The MSRP is approximately $205.00 USD.
