I've been out of the hobby for over a decade now.

Since I've been gone, there have been clearly a glut of 1/6th Glock pistols that have entered the market. And some from brands I've never seen before up close.

Soldier Story
DAM Toys
Easy & Simple
Flagset
Very Cool
Mini Times

I'm sure I'm missing a few more.

Can someone help and give their thoughts on Glocks from these brands if they have them in hand? I.E. which are the best quality, workmanship, etc, etc? Any common glitches or flaws? Cautionary tales? Anyone with photos to share?

I'm just not familiar with E&S, Flagset, VeryCool and Mini Times, how is their quality grade for weapons? Pistols? 1/6th guns in general?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Merry Xmas to all.

I would say Soldier Story is still best for detail and proportions, DAM/Very Cool (VC weapons are mostly made by DAM), E&S, Flagset and Mini Times coming in last. Flagset and Mini Times being a bit more rough, and not as detailed in the molds.

Easy and Simple, and DAM are finally starting to update molds, so we're finally starting to see some newer more detailed models from them. E&S has some nice molding details and varied models, but there are some QC issues which loses points. DAM updated a mold a while back, but they were still a bit large to me, even if the pistols themselves were a lot better than early DAM Glocks.

To be honest though, anything recent from Soldier Story, E&S and DAM will be worth getting.

Thanks for the heads up.

I ended up picking up a Soldier Story Glock from the Aircrew set. The slide didn't want to pull back, so I disassembled it ( took me a while to realize it didn't have a takedown pin like the 45s or the M4s ) Then I took a small knife and shaved out some of the interior to clean out some bumps/flash to get a smoother pull.

The DAM weapons that look like they have the most detail are in the Gangster Kingdom sets. Those look pretty awesome and most are pretty unique to our hobby.

Here's crossing my fingers that they eventually release a GK weapons set line. Doubt it would happen, but it would just be fun to pick up some of those rare guns without targeting them one by one on the secondary market.

Those Damtoys GK weapons are cool. I have a few of them. Some of them do get better details after the release on a GK set, like moving bits. A weapon set of them would be a hot seller.

Dam Glocks have the most details. Even got the etching on all sides of the Glock and it even tilts upward a little when you pull the slide, just like the real Glock. I forget where I saw the details, but they are worth getting. I have got a lot of them. If you want to see more, go to this site. They specialize in 1/6 weapons.

Nice to see you still around Dav, long time. Many years since we last traded.

I checked out the site, thanks for the link.

Merry Xmas my friend, all the best.

Just adding my two cents. I agree mostly with what everyone has said so far. In terms of ES, they seem to have the most variety of Glocks which is where they beat the competition. I will say there is also a higher availability of them on the market as well as a diverse array of holsters from ES.

That being said, I also strongly agree with the QC issues. Magazines sometimes don't fit right and when you get a batch of magazines included with a pistol some will fit better than others. The sliding function is always not smooth or glitchy in some way. I've rarely gotten one that slides as nice as the ones from SS or DAM so I just never mess with it.

I recently picked up a DAM Glock ( It has the blue grip/lower , so it's one of those simunition / training ones)

Your are right, the detail is more expansive than the Soldier Story one. However this one had the same problem with the slide not wanting to go back. What I ended up doing was taking off the slide, pulling out the barrel, then carefully using that same flat head jewelers screw driver to scrape out the inside of the slide section a little bit.

Then I leave the weapon half slide back when reassembled, not full back and not full forward. I plan to leave it this way for a while. Because I'm getting the feeling that the center of the slide is hugging the area of the barrel assembly that forms under the ejection port

My best guess is since this is so small, if there's some kind of inside "burring" that comes from the general mold, then the entire Glock line will have this problem.

The interesting thing about these "blue Glocks" is lots of people don't want them. Obviously they don't fit for alot of figures. But for people doing Sci Fi or something else, I see them as pretty useful. If you are doing a fantasy figure, who cares if the pistol is half blue?
