Butch has been gone a long time, real life demands, but he mastered the Hasbro Humvee in so many ways. I put this pile of links together, to entertain and inspire anyone who loves creativity and Hasbro's HMMWV - the "poor boy" alternative to the rare and costly commercial metal offerings.

I miss Butch. He was a pleasure to have on this forum and to meet in person the couple of times I was fortunate enough to make it to WOH. This is a fine tribute to his incredible skills and dedication to this community. PD, do you think this thread should perhaps be stickied as one of the definitive threads on HUMVEE vehicle mods? And thanks for compiling all this!

Not a bad idea, Rob. Most of these survive in both the original threads, and in archived pages. Used as a central point, they would shorten some searches. If the place ever shakes itself out, archiving would be a central mission. I found so much more material on the daily doings of a decade or more ago, while searching these. It could be a bit wooly back then, but the membership was really wired in.

Ive stumbled through the forum search and found most of these before but this makes life a lot easier.

Now that I have a HMMWV, I should really look in to these mods and give some a go myself.

I really do miss Butch.
After all the pics and resource material I provided back in 2003 for the Hummer builds, I was hoping to build one of my own. The original customizer (shall remain nameless) was going to hook me up and then dropped off the scene. Butch came in and took my reference material and other material and ran touchdown after touchdown. A few of the old masters of OSW came together (Clay, John, Mike, Butch, maybe some others I am unaware of) and bought me a Hasbro hummer and shipped it to me when I returned home. Butch had me on his list to build parts for and feeling unworthy I kept telling him to fill his other requests before mine. Boy do I regret that decision. lol Butch and all his inspiring talent have dropped from the OSW and I still have a Hasbro Hummer in the box with none of his custom greatness.. Live and learn. Still thankful and blessed enough to have been appreciated by such great friends though.

Butch... I really miss him... REALLY MISS HIM! I think he made a CheyTac, didn't he?

From his CheyTac that he gave me...and the Wiley X that he gave me...to his modifications to the Hasbro Humvee that he made me... Man...I really miss him... Just talking to him I really miss... I hope your doing well Butch!

Maybe try the trade area, might be worth it. The original stuff was limited, and Butch is dealing with real life issues, so no hobbying now.

So true, sparky. He sort of made his mark early on, with USMC covers. Not much that was beyond Butch, I wish he could come back to this.
