The 2nd Battalion was an infantry battalion of the Australian Army. It was initially raised for service during the First World War as part the Australian Imperial Force and saw action at Gallipoli before being sent to the Western Front in mid-1916, where it spent the next two-and-a-half years taking part in the fighting in the trenches of France and Belgium. Following the conclusion of hostilities, the battalion was disbanded in early 1919 as part of the demobilization process.

Thanks for looking!

Very very nice. You picked a pretty good head sculpt too. You have the moustache that was popular at the time as well as the growth to simulate the effect of a few hard days in the field. The only thing that doesn't look quite right to me is the slouch hat but everything else is spot on. ANZAC soldiers are revered in Australia so it is touching to see this tribute to our "Aussie Diggers". If you ever wanted to part with him, I would be interested.
