Planning to buy one and I'm planning to make the diver suit look aged and the helmet rusty plus I might replace the dude inside the suit with COO Models skeleton, yup bit unlucky diver. But the plan is to make diver suit bit yellowish.

Also after customizing I might create some under water diorama by buying cylinder made out of glass and then add some sand, the diver itself and water :nanana

how you guys find my idea? Foolish or funny?

Sounds like a brilliant idea to me! Looking forward to seeing it. Remember brass and lead (main metal parts of the suit) don't rust they tarnish and patina eventually becoming so encrusted that it actually protect them from the elements. Just google pictures of aged brass and ignore anything that is brass plated as the steel underneath will make the brass look like it's rusting where as diver's gear was solid brass, occasionally copper and bronze were incorporated as they do not rust either. Have fun!

Using your great idea of a clear cylinder, I personally would get some transparent pale blue/greenish blue window tinting self adhesive sheet like they use on cars and apply it on the inside of the cylinder if possible, you can use a hair dryer and soft plastic or rubber spatulas (maybe a soft ruler?) to help you apply it smoothly to get a good finish. I know it would be much easier to apply it to the outside but I think the thickness of the glass or perspex over the tinted sheet will help give it more depth and a more professional finish.

I think that sounds pretty cool.
If you want you could use some clear hair gel.
You can usually get tubes pretty cheaply. We did something like that for my son, making an underwater toy out of an old water bottle, put toys in and filled it with gel and beads, looked pretty cool!

If you took steps to properly seal and such you could even just put him in an aquarium. I did that with some Funko Aliens figures. The compression suit looks pretty cool with algae on it.
