I looked over at Trijicon's website, and they say that the ACOG 4x32 ranges out to 800 meters, and there is a little 8 in the scope reticle...therefore, I would think you are correct.
In the attached pic from Trijicon, you can make out a 4, 6, and 8:
You are correct. The crosshair is set for point of aim - point of impact at 300 M. The range scale allows for ballistic difference at greater ranges as does the horizontal crosshair which should equal 30". Notice the pic above the horizontal crosshair is the width of the raget (30" or about 1 meter). So if that same target was out at 500 M you could use the horizontal measurement for an accurate shot...not bad for a 5.56 round.....Hope this helps. 550 M is about the longest on a good day although some days are a bit longer
Ermeynator,I know this is kinda off topic, but HOW IN THE WORLD DID YOU GET PAST SF E&E!!!!THEY ALWAYS SPOT ME AND ITS SO FRUSTRATING AND I TRY AGAIN AND THEY SPOT ME AND I FOLLOW THE WALKTHROUGHS AND THEY SPOT ME AND I GET EVEN MORE FRUSTRATED AND THEN I QUIT!!(OK end of rant.)
