Afte a longer time wothout any news i hoped for a M60 Gunner or VC/NVA but this one is a little disapointment. We just get a "rebash" from different ACE Figures and the amount of parts is very restricted. I also had add a helmet for this one and not the beret. New parts are the beret, colored scarf and the boonie hat in this tiger stripe color. The shape looks really good. I see too Sean Penn in his very young years. A vietnamese Figure would be much cooler than the next American Soldier. The LRRP Figure from ACE is much better than this one. Sorry ACE but this is tnot first rate for me. I hope the price will not the same like the others for the ammount of parts.

I don't think it's bad, though certainly there is less weathering or detail here than on some others. One thing that does strike me, is that here we have a clean shaved head sculpt, which has apparently become a rarity. While the scruffy or bearded head sculpts certainly bring additional realism, clean shaved sculpts are advisable and necessary for some scenes and kitbashes.

These are exactly my feelings. An NVA or VC is desperately needed, as is a US Marine. This figure holds zero interest for me. Sorry ACE.

I'll go with the positive here, as ACE brings on the inheritor to 21C's old Mike Force figure, and does pretty good at that. Including the boonie cap means there's no need to hunt one down. Instead of the beret (which no doubt will get some usage elsewhere), another type hat would be cool - wider brimmed, or with another pattern, or even a ball cap - as an alternative. The scarves were friendly recognition devices, as well as morale boosters. Friendly forces and helo crews could ID the wearers.
There's been some nice Mike Force figures done here in the past, but the ACE figure makes for a good starter. As mentioned, they seem to have stuck with the same old body, probably have stocks of those, and plenty of basic uniform patterns in the size. They make what they want, and no doubt that mindset includes burning thru existing inventory.

With DAM in the game, yes there is competition, and variation. Will that force ACE's hand? Who knows. It looks like they won't be abandoning Vietnam War subjects, I am hoping that will mean some ARVN, VC and NVA down the road. Like 'em or not, collectively, ACE has contributed a lot to the hobby.

I love ACE and that is so true. In fact, they invigorated the hobby for this era, and introduced products to the market that hadn't seen light of day since 21stC if at all! Full credit to them!

I would have preferred an Army M60 gunner (173rd Airborne?) but this isn't bad. I'm glad they're putting something out, I might get this (skipped Kimber because the lack of jungle boots) so I'll finally get to mess with the gold tiger stripes.

I do hope that somewhere down the line we get an Aussie or an ARVN. An NVA or VC would be great too.

Whoooah, nice set!
I'm definitely pre-ordering this just for the parts.:gimme

The headsculpt I can use to bash Sean Penn's character from WW2 film The Thin Red Line.
Uniform looks a bit tight, though period photos actually show similar cut. No problem I can still use smaller bodies to bash this.

'Baron'??? Must be some kind of a sick joke.
Young Americans with that sort of name don't go to war, they're the type to dodge the draft:lol
