Hello folks, i've recently acquired Vassily and oleg gregorovich titov, the dragon red army tankers and as nice as vassily's uniform is, ive not been able to find any photographs with any piece of uniform resembling his big tsar style coat. I'm wondering if it was DML using up extra material, or there's just a lack of photographs of this piece.
Anyone have any idea?

thanks for reading

Damn, I know I've seen it somewhere before. Years ago in a photo reference.

I wish I could point you in the right direction but I'm thinking it might've been an '80s issue of Military Modeler (the US magazine) or maybe an old Squadron book. Maybe even a Concord book? That would make sense because of the apparent relationship between Dragon and Concord.

Page 28 of the "Soviet Uniforms and militaria 1917-1991" by Laszlo Bekesi. From the close-up of the pic compared to the DML figure, its pretty close.

The leather jacket was a pre/early war item used only for officers to the best of my knowledge, phased out due to leather shortages. I also understand that you could use the French takers jacket on a prewar Russian tanker as they used a very similar item.
