By and large, no matter what host I use or format I try, someone somewhere can't get things to work.

Add the fact that now so many services want to shove commercials into every video, no matter how short or long, and the technical problems increase.

By having Green Leader host these on a private host, means first off, no commercials, and no "flash" .flv files to fool with so folks with Apple products can watch too. The Phunnies are in .mov aka Quicktime format.

Try using RealPlayer, the free version, which can view many formats.

Also try using Quicktime ...

Other choices for those in the EU or Asia ( these will work for those in the US too )...

VLC Player ...

Or also try using DivX ...

Hope that helps.

If you put it up on youtube any one can view it and you do not have to sign up, the links you included you have to be a member of that site.

Simply not true, depending on what part of the issue your are talking about.

Anyone can view or even download any of the Phunnies from the pages hosted by Green Leader, without being a member of his forum, paying for anything, or even having an e-mail account. Just click and play, or download and play, provided you have the right software and hardware to do it. No, he doesn't get any compensation from any hardware of software makers either, or from any source outside of his own pocket, period.

The Realplayer link clearly says on the page I linked to ...

100% FREE, NO E-mail Needed, NO Registration required. There might be a terms of use you agree to, but I haven't had to use any membership title or password to use Realplayer for years now, not even to get the free updates or to install the various codecs to play certain file types.

As far as I know, you don't need to register to download and use Quicktime 7, unless you wish to use the "pro" features of the software, and you pay to unlock those features, but you may have to agree to the terms of use.

VLC does state that you have to agree to the terms of use for their software, some others do as well, but many do NOT require you to join their "site", or even download other stuff like a toolbar or other things you don't want, you can opt out as the process of installing the sofwater on your machine takes place.

I offer another direct link to VLC here ...

Read the terms and conditions and see what you think.

Windows Media Player can also play .mov files, if you have the latest codec from them installed to do so, depending on the version you are using. I offer up this link, again you can read and decide for yourself ...

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/products/windows-media-player

Here again is a link with the several versions of Divx you can choose from, all free, unless you want to access certain special features.

Now here is my bottom line. There is just no way I'm going to load videos onto several different hosting sites, in mulitiple formats, if I don't see a good reason to do so. Apple products won't play .flv ( flash ) videos, and with the release of IOS6 for things like the iPad, Apple dropped support for youtube too. I can't begin to hope to cover every type of computer, phone, or other electronic device, with every type of operating system, and whatever level of hardware or software each user is using. Now once again, add in the desire for various hosting sites to make money, by adding in their adware of commercials into the video stream, and problems compound.

Sites like youtube restrict videos to 10 minutes tops, unless you buy special features, and some add in even more restrictions, like quality level presented, what types of content you can post, and some even start claiming rights to the hosted materials. I don't want those hassles, and I trust me, lots of stupid people do stupid things to other people on these sites, just because they can, and it takes time for the one posting materials to prove they didn't make a violation.

By having GL host the videos and pictures privately ( and he pays for that out of his own pocket by the way, because he doesn't CHARGE anyone to do it, or to view the items, or even make them "join" anything either ), and by using a format that offers good picture and sound quality, with a low file size to store and download, and be playable by most of the major players out there ( pick the one you want to use, you have to have something on your computer to view video and music in the first place or they won't play at all, and most likely the software that came on your computer can do it, and you had to agree to the terms of use to do so, just like with all of the other software installed on it ), it is the most "open" way for people to share and enjoy.

You can either download the video off of his pages and play them "natively" in your computer, and delete them when you are done, or you can try to let them load into the buffer of your browser or temp files and play them that way.

I can only do what I can do, and after several tests and years of experience, GL and I think that the way we are doing it, is the best and less complicated way we can do it, and he was hosting photos online long before I even had a digital camera, let alone started doing digital video.

Sorry, but that is the best I can offer, anyone else can jump in if they have more knowledge or solutions, I don't claim to know everything, so if you can help people see these little videos ( and hence, more materials in other places, there is nothing ultra high tech in what I'm doing ), go for it please.
