Somehow, HT really made a mediocre character looks cool. I never really like the POTA movie and never find their character attractive. But somehow these pictures changes my perspective... They (HT) really have something other manufacturers don't have. No wonder they are so successful.

I have this sneaking suspicion that we may see the Sideshow 12" figures just cease being made, epecially with how tight they are with HT and may see Sideshow focusing more on statues and PFs. Hot Toys basically taking of 1/6 production for Sideshow.

deguy,

How do you see that working, SST selling their licenses to HT, or just dropping them and carrying whatever HT makes?

The problem with HT taking over existing SST licenses is they would practically necessitate having to re-do whatever Sideshow did, or there'd be a HUGE discrepancy in the line. Already SST has a problem with different bodies in one line (SW). I mean, if they do say a Lando on a Prometheus, he'll be an inch shorter than Han on the Buck body!

It's to the point now that I won't buy a SST figure for fear HT will also acquire the license, and put out a figure that shames what I've already collected. I liked it better when they made different quality figures, of different licenses.

Well in the case of Hellboy II I believe Sideshow still has the license but contracted Hot Toys to design and produce the figures. I might be wrong. As far as line consistancy goes this to me would be no different from Sideshow taking over GI Joe and Star Wars from Hasbro.
