    RAF Battle Of Britain Pilot

I recently finished my first based 1/6th figure and must admit to really enjoying the project

I made a few alterations to the Alert Line RAF Pilot and based him with a DID Bulldog

The original Alert Line Tom Hardy Head was swapped out for a Facepool one which I have had for a while

The only other change was to the RAF uniform which I drained the colour out of to match the WWII blue used instead of the original colour which was way to dark

The figure was given a simple pose and was based with his dog as if just returning from a mission

Another first for me was doing the static grass on the groundwork

this is one of the best, most well-finished 1/6 pieces I've seen lately.

I love this figure!! You've managed a really natural pose. Even though he's just "standing there" the stance is so lifelike. I love your custom touches, like the scarf and the head sculpt, and are those BBi goggles? They look like they could be. And what is that canister tucked under his arm -- did you custom build that? All in all, a really nice representation of the courageous young men of the RAF!

    Thank you Spitfire

Most of the figure was straight from the box with only slight alterations with the head, uniform colour and scarf

The cylinder is actually a small emergency bailout oxygen bottle and came with the set

Nice job on the figure, macuk!

I agree with Val, nice job on his "just standing there" pose.

    Well done!

    Great figure!
How did you tone down the uniform?

    I used a colour remover

I soaked the uniform in half a packet of the powder mixed with enough water to fully cover it

I went for a 20 minute soak and at first thought that wouldn’t be enough but as the uniform dried after rinsing in clean water the colour changed to just about the perfect shade

The original colour is just a bit too dark for a WW2 uniform

This is a great looking figure and the headsculpt just finishes him off.

I use pins made from brass rod from the feet into the base. They hold the figure nice and securely
