Some pics from the AZ Joeheads meeting

Here's a few pics I took at the last AZ-Joeheads meeting
of a few figures that were there.

And of course this guy. I took all the background out to showcase
him a little better. It has a light inside the flame.

Hope you like them and I hope to get more next time.

    Ike

Looks like a tense stand-off. The flamethrower may have settled things down.

The flame thrower is from Alex. He has done a couple of these now and they do look really good esp. with the right light. He does visit the boards but does not post. "He is the anti-social type" as Oddball would say. Alex is a good modeler and you see allot of his work when we have Scott Carter come out and air brush.

    Good stuff, Ike and Jeff!

Thanks for posting photos from your meetings. You guys have a great group out in Arizona! And you've three surviving 1:6th vendors out there, too.

    Keep 'em comin'!

As Jeff noted, I did not. Guess I should have put names on
who made what. But I didn't know on all of them.

I actually only brought 2 figures and only one is pictured.
The Russian smoking next to the 55 gallon fuel drums

But I will be working on a few more military figures off of
some great pictures in the time life series World at War books from the 70's.

My brother collected the whole series. And there are some really
great reference pictures in there from WWI, II and Nam, I don't normally see on the net.

I hope also to work with the Joeheads to make a dio and figure
display of one of my favorite pictures from those books.

My Dad was in the Army, 2 of my brothers were Rangers and AI.
So it's always been part of my life. I guess making more military figures
is kind of my way to pay homage to them.

The Time Life WWII Series solidified my interest in WWII. My county library system has the whole set - but spread throughout all the library branches. Lots of waiting involved as a kid when requesting titles that were at other branches… But great memories - and I learned a lot.

Very cool that you'll base some kitbashes off the photos in the series. Good choice!

Thank you Ike for posting and sharing you photos from the group meeting, I really appreciate it. I didn't take as many pics as I should have, there was a lot to do and I was tinkering with my new Go-Truck HMMWV.

I have posted my pics here:
