Don't know but if you can't get a definitive answer here you may want to direct your question to one of the fallschirmjager reenactor groups. I have found reenactor or veteran groups to be some of most helpful and accurate sources for specific information.

    Greendevils: http://www.greendevils.com/greendevils/pi_default.htm
    Fallschirmjager Reg't of Washington: http://www.angelfire.com/wa/fallschirmjaegers/

Here's a listing of various Luftwaffe reenactor group sites that may be able to help: http://www.reenactor.net/ww2/axis/luftwaffe_main.html

    Yes, they were available.
In Green Devils ! Germa Paratroopers 1939-1945 by Jean Yves Nasse, in the page 137 you can see one of the officers wearing a italian camo trousers.

Title of the pic says On 4 April 1945, men from FJR 1, survivors of the italian campaign, en route to Gössendorf.

    Hope this helps.

They'd work.....having talked to Hugo(FJ expert, reenactor of FjR6, sells mapcases)....he says italian camo would work well (monte cassino is in italy, so.....) FJ's used everything in italien from jumpsmocks, fieldcaps, trousers, and tunics.

No problem. As the German Psyco kid, I know a bit about uniforms, camo, etc....I
ve seen an original "Jumpsmock", made from an Ital. camo panzerkonbi with the pockets removed and the legs cut off.
