Geocaching involves using a handheld GPS reciever to locate a cache hidden by someone else. (A cache being a container (ranging in size from an Ammo can to a film canister or even smaller) containing a log book for finders to sign and, if space allows, small items which can be traded). Anyone can hide a cache (as long as they make sure they have permission from the landowner) and then post the GPS coordinates to one of several dedicated websites. Other people can then copy the co-ords to their own GPS and try to locate the cache. If they find it, they sign the log book, and if they want to, swap a trade item for something of their own. I came across a geocaching website by accident and thought I’d have a go. So far I’ve found 10 caches. As the secondhand GPS I got of Ebay seems to be a 1:1 version of the Hot Toys version that came with some of their HALO figures, I was inspired to do a 1/6th version! Hope you enjoy the pics!!
OK not far to go
It should be right around here.... somewhere!!
Ah-ha!! What's under here?
Yes!! Found it!!
I've made the 1/6th cache double as a 1:1 cache (all be it a very small one!!) so it contains a rolled up logsheet, a pencil and a badge for the first person to find it... I just need to find a good place to hide it!!
The patches and Geocache label were printed off from various geocaching websites.
Thanks for looking
