Rebel Flag at Little Round Top

Below are my pictures of a Rebel Lt. carrying the Army of Northern Virginia flag up the slope at Little Round Top at Gettysburg on July 2nd.

A couple people commented on my last post of a Union officer holding a Federal flag that bullet holes would look really good in the flag. Rather than redo that figure I decided to make this one dedicated to the Rebs. If you look carefully you can see the holes and rips in the flag. They aren't random, but are based on a photo of the 3rd Arkansas Infantry Regiment. Some day I will get motived to add the "3rd Ark" to the center of the flag.

The figure was inspired by an Andrea miniature that I really liked. The key element is the Rebel Flag. I found a dealer on the web that sells them in ~1/6th scale. Stiffy Fabric is used hold the wind blown shape.

    Beautiful work once again, CZ!!!

The base and figure are fantastic, but it's the way you have that tattered flag blowing in the wind that really takes this one over the top!

    Tadgh,

I got the flag waving effect by soaking the flag in "Stiffy Fabric'. You can find it at any craft store and possibly Wal-Mart. It takes 30 minutes to dry. If you don't like the "waviness" just soak in it warm water and the Stiffy Fabric washes out.
