The Mark III armor yet again, this time in die cast... Hot Toys is really trying to squeeze every last drop of milk out of this cash cow!

Damn, might have to get this. I have the original MK3, but it looks really crappy compared to this one. The v1 didn't have a removeable faceplate, articulated fingers, removeable panels, shoulder dart launchers or flare launchers. The rubbery waist has faded quite a bit over time, and to top it off, mine has 2 left hip joints. I did pick it up cheap though, as it had a broken arm (which i fixed).

I was expecting an updated one after they released the Mk 2 Armor Unleashed. I must say I'm actually quite pleased!

Why call it "Diecast Series" when it should be "Iron Man Overdone Series".

Finally! I was expecting MMS DX for this one so a bit disappointed there. Diecast is just too heavy and pricey. Now are they going to recycle RDJ's head for this one or not...?

In the last picture RDJ's face sculpt is blurred. I think if they were recycling a head that would not be the case.

Oh no... Now you've given them ideas...

I like how they made the"panties" into multiple, movable pieces. Ultimately solving the problem of producing them in plastic that will almost always fade over time.

Apart from anything else, apart from upgrades or diecast or improvements, keeping a Mark III available for new collectors has to be a good idea. Most of us aren't in this position but if I was new Hot Toys customer, it would be pretty weird that you could buy a Red Snapper or an Igor or armors that got only seconds of screen time, but couldn't buy a Mark III except for old figures at inflated EBay prices.

As much as I hate to say this, since I'm sick of all the IM figs, this one is tempting, as I missed it the first go round. But, with some of the other figures coming out, I'm just not sure I can swing this one, too.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS256D07 – Iron Man: 1/6th scale Mark III

I was just about to PO this, but now i'm having second thoughts. There are a lot of improvements compared to the v1 MK3, but there are also downsides. The flare dispensers, shoulder dart launchers and wrist rocket launchers are all add-on parts. The MK6 has the flare dispensers and dart launchers built in, even the original has the wrist rockets built in.

Add-on parts are a bit of a cop-out, especially since they've managed it before with the earlier figures. I find add-ons tend to get left in the box unused. I received Iron Patriot yesterday and it's a beautiful figure, very well made with a flawless finish, but compared to War Machine with it's multiple weapons and working features, it's a bit of a let down.

Add on parts are a lot less fragile than built in parts. Besides this thing looks awesome compared to the original Mk 3. Already PO-ed one and hope it gets made as soon as possible.

Well it's nice to have the option, it would be nicer if I could afford it though!

Since I missed out on the first Mark IIIs I've been hoping for this one. Granted I wish it wasn't die-cast but I'll take it to finally have all 7 armors for the Hall of Armor.
