Thanks for the review..I own all three panzer cops..two by Takara and the third is by Dragon. The Medicom version looks like it could blend in no problem but, you are correct the price is too steep. I really don't know If I would purchase this figure. It would make a nice addition but, as I said earlier the price is too high. Thanks again for the illustrious review.

I'd reco the Takara version, if you can get one. I have both the Dragon and the Takara version and I like the former better by a long shot. The base figure has better articulation and the armor is fuller and more formidable when fully assembled than the Dragon armor.

If it's any indication of how much I like Takara, I have four of their PanzerKops and one of Dragons. I wouldn't mind picking up another of Dragon's - particularly one with the light-up eyes.

If the armor style is your primary concern, tho, and you like it better than Takara, then go with Dragon.

I opted out of the Medicom for a similar reason: of the three, I like the style of the Medi's armor least - not a fan of the breastplate calculator . . . ;0)

Just my $0.02.

thanks, i'll looks into this takara version. yeah its the calculator thats putting me off, what a shame. its almost as bad as bringing out a star wars stormtrooper with a pink bow. i doubt i could find the one with light up eyes, that would be very cool

Echoing what Echo 7 said, here are some of the panzer cops I own - thought I'll share these pictures. First picture from left to right - 2002 Medicom Panzer Cop from the anime "Jin Roh: Wolf Brigade", 2002 Dragon Panzer Cop with light up eyes, 2001 Medicom Panzer Cop (movie version) and Second picture front row is made up of Takara Female Panzer Cop "Midori", Takara Panzer Cop "Kohukumaru" and Takara Panzer Cop "Midori" German Grey version. I also dislike the Medicom calculator on chest version and just couldn't bring myself to get him. Will post more pictures on my toy blog in future.

As far as price, this guy is on clearance at BBTS for only $85 if anyone wants one: http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/p...93&mode=retail

The DML one is the most appealing, mainly as the body could be upgraded to a Neo3. The Medicom one will doubtless have an RAH which will mean it's going to be undersized.

Thing is, by the time you actually find a DML one, you'll probably end up paying out what you would for a Takara or Medicom anyway, hmmmm. The only hope is if DML release another, ya never know.....

CHEERS!

The ones I recommend is the Takara female and male versions. You can't go wrong with any of those.

The other one I like (though not necessarily recommend) is the Jin-Roh Anime armor version released by Medicom in 2002 IIRC. The armor and mask look great and Medicom actually copied the superb sculpt from Kaiyodo's vinyl model kit for this figure. The MG42 is lame though, you have to glue and paint them by yourself. Accessories were cast in soft plastic and the figure's articulation points are limited by the armor's "model kit design".

I am glad I only paid 85 bucks for this because it royally sucks. It is IMHO a piece of crap compared to the other releases. The body is loose and sucks, the armor is crap, the weapon is crap, overall a piece of crap.

If I'd paid $85 for something as crap as that sounds, I'd be seriously narked off!

Start petitioning DML now!

I got this version from BBTS when they had one of their sales for about $99 bucks. I also have the original Dragon release.

The Dragon release looks like a low-detailed, rubbery mess compared with this version with its crisp molded lines and tighter overall look and feel. Not really sure how you guys are getting that the Dragon version (which looks like rubber armor hanging off of black fabric straps) compares to this one, which is IMHO superior.

Granted, the Takara version is still the best, but you gotta be a serious fan of the series to shell out that kind of dough for Takara products, which are in the $200 bills range whenever I see them.

I'm not a real fan of the anime its based on (same old tired anime anti-hero storyline IMHO) but you really can't do wrong with this figure. I guess I'm not seeing the problems with it. <shrug>

ive added some of the fig pics.
i personally have
medicom comic ver (no calculator+thigh plates) i modified the hands to hold guns because it only comes with closed fists

takara kohukumaru
takara midori matt black

2x dragon international version

custom medic

custom panzer cop

im gonna get:
kaiyodo jin roh
kaiyodo comic ver

i want: all the ones i dont have.

my first was the takara kohukumaru chuichi. i purchased him in hong kong. loved it so much i cant stop playing with them. love the armours on all of them. despite medicoms versions sucking worse than a britney spears greatest hits album, i still think they look good on a shelf.

heres a pic of some planned takara figures we have yet to see
