please contribute! Alien/Predator/Terminator figures, AvPvT list best and worst

I am making this thread for 3 reasons:
1: to show off my collection (coz I'm like that)
please contribute! Alien/Predator/Terminator figures, AvPvT list best and worst-img_3392-jpg
2: to provide information to allow people to make educated purchases (e.g. don't buy the crap figures)
3: and to put together a complete (as possible) list of large size (1/6, 1/7, 1/5, 1/4 scale) Alien, Predator and Terminator figures. Basically the go-to thread for AvP&T figure info. So please post reviews, photos and any relevant info you think can expand this thread!

To start, I will list the figures/models I know of, then post photo's/reviews for the ones I have.

Re: best/worst Alien/Predator/Terminator figures, and 1/6 AvPvT encyclopedia

(copied from my other post in other thread)

the sega aliens (black version and brown version) bought in toyzone store in HK, plus 3 or so more black versions (fingers crossed) on their way. yahoo japan has them cheap (i won one for 500 yen!) do a search for them. they are articluated at the shoulders and are not true 1/6, but at 12 inches fit in nice with 10 inch figures (hasbro avengers, hm armed forces, the smaller medicom figures) and the sculpts are great!!!
please contribute! Alien/Predator/Terminator figures, AvPvT list best and worst-img_3401-jpg
i also got the metal statue by x-plus. same mold but the casting is not as clean as the sega versions, but man is it heavy! no articulation.

i gots me an HT predalien (battle damaged, nice, but i dislike the rubber elements and knee articulation cant hold poses : /
mcfarlane avp grid alien: closer to 1/5 than 1/6, if stood up straight it would be 16-18 or so inches tall! but it isnt, because its stuck in an ugly and awkward squat pose with no meaningful articulation in the legs and pointless (and ugly) bicep cut joint articulation in the arms making it more of a statue. the good points are the stand (which interlocks with the scar predator base) its size (impressive) and that long bendy tail! its my wife's favorite out of my alien collection.
please contribute! Alien/Predator/Terminator figures, AvPvT list best and worst-img_3403-jpg
the hasbro '97 warrior aliens are the same sculpt as the older medicom aliens, and lack bicep joints, but are cheap and easy to get for repainting and army building! jointed at shoulders, elbows, wrists, neck, bendy tail, hips, knees and ankles.
please contribute! Alien/Predator/Terminator figures, AvPvT list best and worst-img_3411-jpg
the kenner '96 alien from the aliens vs predator set is actually nicer than i earlier thought. it is the dog alien! minus the dome. if you make a dome and repaint it you will have a pretty darn good dog alien for very cheap (it was obviously going to be released as the dog alien, but perhaps was cancelled, and instead was put in an avp 2 pack without the dome to resemble the warrior alien from aliens movie). i plan to repaint mine at some point and make a dome for it.

my 22 inch neca alien is dirt cheap (£30 most places, at most £50) and is really nicely sculpted and detailed for the price. and it can hold poses! definite buy! neca is going to do an improved version very soon with better paint and articulation, so hold out for that! also neca will possibly do one of the aliens version in a year or two, so keep an eye out!
please contribute! Alien/Predator/Terminator figures, AvPvT list best and worst-img_3436-jpg
mcfarlane alien. includes base (nice) and three facehuggers (always good to have) and generally the sculpt is good, and its in scale. drawback is its articulation, with ugly cut joints on the thighs and biceps, which get quite loose under the weight causing it to fall back. the bendy tail combined with the stand hold it up, but it requires careful posing.
please contribute! Alien/Predator/Terminator figures, AvPvT list best and worst-img_3402-jpg

also got the furyu alien (avp) unpainted version. great sculpt, verrrrrry cheap (£10 off ebay, taobao has loads for £6-£15, yahoo japan has em for £10-£20) and easy to put together. it is non articulated, and in its crouched pose it is 10-11 inches tall (if stood straight it would be 12-13 inches) so while small, it wont look too bad next to 12 inch figures and is in scale with other 10 inch figures (repulsor power iron man vs alien! alien vs the avengers! alien vs the british army?????)

I enjoy your megalists. Looking forward to more pics and reviews. I hope HT does an improved version of the Predalien to address joint issues etc. I hated the AvP movies, but that creature design is awesome.

The Tsukuda Alien Resurrection warrior alien is advertised as 1/5, but I think it closer to 1/6 at about 14 inches tall. It has a great sculpt and a nice long bendy tail. It has a neutral pose good for display, its only weakness being the lack of articulation (jointed shoulders, bendy tail). It includes a stand to support the tail, and with a repaint would look great next to hot toys aliens. There is a pair of these on Ebay for not too high a price, or you can search on Yahoo Japan. Hard to find in the west usually.

The Tsukuda newborn alien is just as well sculpted and again stands at 14 or so inches (1/6 I think) again with jointed shoulders and nothing else. The paint scheme is lacking so a repaint will really bring it to life. Compared with the Medicom newborn, it is huge! The Medicom version has a basic combat joe body with vinyl/rubber covering to simulate the newborn. This means it has exposed joints and is small at 12 or so inches, and there is the possibility of deterioration of the vinyl/rubber parts in hot weather. It is jointed at the ankles, knees, hips, elbows and shoulders. it does have some trouble standing without support, and while the paint has more colours than the Tsukuda version (and nice eyes), it still doesn't stand up to today's standards and could use a repaint. Good news is if you wanted to swap the body, it should be easy enough to remove the vinyl parts and put on a new body (so long as it is slim enough, the same as a combat joe). It is usually tough to find but I think there is one on Ebay for about £45-£50.

    Bookmarked. Many thanks

I love to see other peoples collections, especially if they are in my interest areas.

I will use you to decide what to aim for getting next. I want a Alien, was thinking predalien or warrior but unsure. Money and space are also a big problem.

Hoping we get a load of positive love towards the new Colonial Marines game to warrant HT to get the licence.

Great pictures and collection you have.

    Okay, that's an impressive collection

Most of my stuff is stashed at the moment, and I can only comment on the Alien/Aliens stuff. I could never afford the Preds.

i dont own the warrior by HT (can any owners chime in?) but i do think that given the standing issues of the predalien knees (not helped by the foot shape) i would lean towards the warrior. if you dont mind modding the knees or using support to display the figure then go ahead and get the predalien, it is big, mean looking and i like that the mandibles are poseable.

I have HT's Aliens Warrior (Blue) and the Alien 3 Dog version. The Aliens Warriors were plagued with weak joints, elbows, knees and especially the ankles. I managed to fix the knees and elbows here:

    https://www.onesixthwarriors.com/foru...n-warrior.html

Still working on a reliable ankle fix. The various tubes on the back are a constant irritation, as any flexing of the torso results in the rubber skin moving about and pops the tubes out of place. I got fed up and left them off altogether. The dog alien had loose hips and ankles. Still to tackle that one. I got both cheap as they were in a sorry state, but i would be pretty mad if i bought them new.

I also bought the Halcyon vinyl kit of the Alien (circa 1992), which is essentially the Kenner Alien doll. Limited articulation and at 18" tall far too big for my Marines.

thanks for the info. so warrior and dog kinda suck too? i guess we need to wait for HT to redo them new style (like the newer preds). fingers crossed we get great aliens soon. glad i only have one HT alien atm.

they aren't common in the west. i got mine from japanese online auctions. they are only partially articulated but make for good display pieces. repainted they look amazing (google it), so worth getting if you see them at good price.

The ones in Australia? Yeah thos the ones I mentioned earlier. I was watching them hoping an OSW'er could win them.

Here's the Tsukuda warrior alien from Aliens. About 15 inches tall, has jointed shoulders and rotating tail (not bendy on mine).
The paint scheme is really quite lame, so repaint is definitely needed: ***aliens warrior- Tsukuda repaint*** ... there's also a few seam lines which could use sanding down, so this isn't the best choice, but its big and very cool looking when repainted so worth getting if you see it cheap.
please contribute! Alien/Predator/Terminator figures, AvPvT list best and worst-img_3428-jpg
the Tsukuda dog alien is huge! definitely 1/5, so a little large for 1/6, but given the pose it doesn't notice so much. It is hollow plastic, a little thin in a couple places, and the tail is hollow soft vinyl, very thin and not colour matched to the body very well. The paint on the body is very similar to the resurrection warrior, so not too bad, but a repaint does wonders: ALIEN 3 Tsukuda 1/5 figure repaint/redo project
It has rotating tail and jointed shoulders. The best bit is that the dome (like the resurrection figure) is transparent and the effect looks good. i have two, one was new in box and is great condition, and the other was used, and where it was in hot environment the plastic/vinyl had softened and the back legs bent out of position over time (one out the side, the other forward) so i will have to heat them up and bend them back, but using a stand in warm climates should resolve the issue (there is a stand supplied in box).

The Tsukuda classic alien is the same mould as the 1979 Kenner alien (and Halcyon kit). It doesn't have launching inner mouth action like the Kenner, but does have more paint than the Kenner version, but still its in need of repainting. The skull is painted white with the clear dome glued on top and the figure stands almost as tall as the Kenner original (16-17 inches I think) it has jointed hips, rotating tail, jointed shoulders and neck, while the internal mouth can be pulled out.
please contribute! Alien/Predator/Terminator figures, AvPvT list best and worst-img_3427-jpg

The Kenner version is 18 inches tall, has launching inner mouth action via lever under head, no neck articulation (due to feature), has rotating tail, jointed hips, shoulders and wrists plus removable dome. I am customising mine as I won it broken (arms broke off) for 99 pence (adding elbow joints, re-tooling the neck, inner mouth and teeth and repainting it, plus the dome is missing) so mine is no longer the original version.
The Halcyon kit is identical to the Kenner figure minus the launching mouth feature, and has no paint. It stands 18 inches tall when built, but mine is un-built. Being a kit that kinda pops together I think you can get more movement out of the parts, so better articulation than the Kenner version, and the tail is bendy for better posing.

thanks for the pointer. i do have that but i wasnt gonna add it since its like 1/12 scale, but i guess it is large, and you could display it with 12 inch figures as a praetorian, yeah, i'll ad it in later when i get back from work

There was also a 1/6 Alien Queen resin kit:

No idea if any were ever sold, did anyone manage to get hold of one? Please post pics if you have them. Given that HT has some hefty releases in the future, Ironmonger, Batmobile and possibly Cain, I'm still hoping they can eventually deliver the goods.

    thanks! i loves my aliens!

@Marine boy: thanks for the heads up! thats one nice queen! doubt i could afford one though.

ht or neca will prob do one in 1/6 (neca would prob call it 18 inch or 22 inch, or large scale to avoid issue with 1/6 license)

Hey Jaz, any idea how the Neca deluxe Alien Queen looks next to a 1/6 Alien from HT or MacFarlane? I'm curious as in reviews they say it can stand 18 inches tall and 23 inches long! Or the size of a small dog as Pixel Dan put it! LOL.

There are quite a few photo comparisons of the two that can be found via Google Image search.

Already tried that with no luck, it was either the NECA queen or the HT Alien but not together, got a link? Cheers!
