    hot toys cardboard packaging box

Does the condition of the hot toys cardboard packaging box count. Or even having it at all.
I'm not talking about the fancy display box that the figure is actually in. Im talking about the brown packing box that hot toys uses. Would it having a dent or a mark lower the value. or not having the box lower the value of the figure when its not even

like in Michael's review for example
    http://www.mwctoys.com/REVIEW_032312b.htm

It doesnt even mention or show the packing box .

I'm sure having the outer brown packaging is a positive selling point, but it doesn't in and of itself raise or lower the value. There's certainly no "Beckett's" guide that will tell you it's worth X amount of dollars more with the box versus without, and I personally don't worry about it.

Of course, my personal opinion is that these are just toys that I enjoy putting together and displaying so I can admire them. I'm not in this hobby to flip collectibles and try to make a profit. I personally prefer stocks, bonds, and real estate for investment purposes, not pricey niche toys.

Most retailers don't even ship in the shipping box. Especially if you buy multiple items as it adds to the weight.

I've been an avid toy collector for 25 years and I've never head of a shipping box being worth anything-- only the contents.

I'm sure the outer shipping box would be what most people chuck out. It's pretty minor next to the contents.

Provided the box the figure itself is in is in good shape I wouldn't worry.

Like most have already said, I don't think it adds any real value to the figure itself...however, I do find them particularly useful for storing the 'fancy display boxes' in (as you describe them) for protection from damage as they are, obviously, just the right size and fairly strong.

    That's just me though.

its the inside that matter most.
Unless you are gonna keep it MISB & sell off in a couple of years??
But then again,it defeat the pleasure of owning/playing/fiddlingwith such a "hi-end toy"
    am i right?

I'd like to have it but won't cry over it if the vendor decided to ship without it.

Also, all DX comes with the brown shipper (box) by default because of the way the DX boxes are designed.

I only keep the shipping boxes in case I'm going to sell an item, or move. Otherwise I think they are worthless.

    hi
You can use any box, a priority mail box, or a brown box. ... The boxes are free at the PO (or free online). The priority postage is the same no matter which box you use (unless you're using priority flat rate boxes for items that should go in a non-flat rate box due to weight)
    thanks

An old school, but very worthwhile packaging concept as of late.

Re: hot toys cardboard packaging box

    hi
Packing a box properly is crucial when it comes to shipping. If your item is not packed well, it probably won’t stand a chance in the carrier’s fast-paced hubs full of drops and falls from conveyor belt to conveyor belt. The carriers know this and have come up with several resources to use for all the do-it-yourself packers out there.

We put together a list of eight things to do to ensure proper packing
    thanks

There was a time when such BOT BULL$%^& would have been dealt with decisively and swiftly.

Those days are long gone and the current staffing really don't have the bandwidth to deal with such.

I honestly don't think it's a bot. I think it's the new owners starting new accounts and hijacking old accounts to try and breathe some life into the board.
