Lightbulb Hong Kong Zoomed In Miniature Exhibition

Just went to this interesting exhibition over the weekend. It features some 42 miniature model masterpieces from 15 artists. The theme is about the objects and places of old Hong Kong.

This is not really 1/6 stuff. But I find all these miniature items really amazing. I am very impressed with the modeling skills that these artists have and the amount of time they put in for researching. Each piece of work is filled with passion and all of them are bringing back a lot of good old memories when I was a kid.

I have taken over 130 photos from the exhibition. Here are some selected ones that I would like to share with all OSWers. If you are not from HK you may not get the strong feeling as I do. But I still hope you can be inspired from their work:

You may visit my personal site (http://web.mac.com/leungr) for the full 134 photo album. Thank you for watching!

I so very much would like to go to Hong Kong, be it to visit or to live for some time; it's always been an interest of mine.

I am glad that a lot of you like this! My fav one is the barber shop. The weathering is done perfectly to express the "old 60/70's" feel.

My favorite is the barber shop as well. It looks amazing right down to the rust and stains. I suppose this is what Gulliver must have felt like. Thanks for sharing!

This looks so real. I was getting hungry just looking at it all. I lived in japan for over a year an a half and they nailed it. I couldn't help but think, when I make my sets, I just using 1:6 parts that I have come across. So, where did they get all their items, or did they make them all? It would be cool to purchase some of these items. Is there a special store to get the miniature accessories? Just curious.

Fantastic photo shooting Ray! I love old Hong Kong and this is the way to keep it in our memory since HK is always tearing down the old and up with the new!
