Great movie. One of my favorites as it's the very first DVD I ever bought.
That's a great looking sculpt. No mistaking it's Eastwood. I'm looking forward to this.
Looks off to me,
The thread title and hairstyle are all that say Clint to me.
CHEERS!
Eric,
Please understand this in the utmost respect.
I agree with Rog, this is off
it may be a little difficult for those of us that are non-artists to express.
but consider
If you are going specifically for "Kelly":
This Eastwood may not look young enough
Don't worry too much about the "signature" Eastwood hair-do
as most will put "Kelly" in a helmet
Also consider THERE ARE A LOT of Eastwood sculpts out there
None of which are perfect YET
I think this looks a lot like a retouch of the Yamamoto "Bounty Hunter"
That being the most antiquated and weakest of the bunch
What was wrong with that is whats wrong with this: overemphasis on eyebrows
wider at temples
too narrow at jawbone and chin
eyes may need to be a little squintier
My currently preferred "Kelly" sculpt, I believe was done by Andgor, although it does'nt match up to Maddox's "Crap-Game" and "Oddball" for continuity and uniformity. it seems to match his age and neck-length.
btw the Brother Production " Harry" is conversely too muscular.
please take it for what it is, best of luck on this project

Thanks for the comments Jim. I definitely want feedback. I feel its a bit off as well, but I haven't been able to pinpoint it exactly. I decided to post the image here so I can get other's feedback.
Any constructive comments are extremely helpful.
I'll pass your comments over to the sculptor.
Thank you.

For me, it's the whole shape of the face. The features don't look right with it. Clint has such a distinctive face, but, he is tough to get exactly right. It's like Bruce Willis, there are so many bald sculpts with squints purporting to be Bruce that are just way off the mark.
It's like they pick the most distinguishing features and think that'll do. Bruce and Clint are alike in that there's more to them than a thousand yard stare. It's lucky that Clint is a well photographed actor. More careful study of the reference material is needed.
He needs a stronger jaw that's for sure. People have such a strong image of him in their minds it's easy to see when something is wrong but difficult to articulate just how to put it right.
Have a delve through this and you'll find what you need:

CHEERS!
Might need two versions, a helmet head and trademark hairdo head, sort of like the HT Platoon Charlie Sheen. It's hard to find a good front-view reference pic. I like the Clint "squinty scowl" in the smaller picture on the bottom (i.e., less of a smile on the sculpt, more of a frown).

The first thing that struck me as needing attention is the mouth. Looking at the 1/1 photos, the top and bottom lip (extremities) should be equal. The sculpt has the bottom lip too thick, the top too thin.
For what its worth, it looks very much like Clint to me. Nevertheless, it is a Dirty Harry Clint and not a Kelly's Heroes Clint.
I think the main thing that's off is the mouth. It's too symmetrical, the lower lip too full and the upper is the wrong shape as well - a bit too bowed. This sort of thing is very hard to describe, the the photo's above are very good representations of Clint in that movie.
I really like it, I can't sculpt for shite so I have alot of respect for you and other people tha have the skills to it.
Ron
I can't sculpt either, but I have an artistic eye and can tell good work from bad.
CHEERS!
I can see where you're going but Clint in the pic is older.
CHEERS!
Thanks for all the feedback. The sculptor and I have talked it over and have decided to go in a different direction.
Stay tuned.
Eric
Well if you cant nail the sculpt now...
Dont show any upper eyelid.
Forget Clints non regulation haircut and accommodate the helmet.

See if you can pick up the CH Kelly. It might be a good base to work from.
One of my most cherished WWII movies. Great sculpt. Look forward to your progress.
Great screen caps Spartan Rex!
Good reference!
Those are sme great images indeed. I'll pass them on to the sculptor.
Thanks.

Do ya feel lucky!? LOL!
CHEERS!
my 2 cents are the ears need work, too big and sitting too low, never the less a great start.....

I love Hanouman´s style, it is very unique. I´ll buy anything that he does and becomes available. Big fan.
I agree that, to date Andgor's is the best custom Clint "Kelly" out there. This one has too much hair and could not properly wear a WWII helmet.
As for mass produced Clint? Headplay's prototype looks hard to beat.
"I have come here to kick a-s-s and chew bubblegum, and I'm all out of bubblegum"
Thanks for all the inpuet! Much appreciated!
As for the hair, I'm planning on offering 2 versions. Puffy hair and helmet hair version.
I agree, Headplay's Clint is awesome, but we're going for a much younger Clint.
I love Hanouman's style as well. The Clint that we're going for will take into consideration Hanouman's distinctive style.I love Hanouman´s style, it is very unique. I´ll buy anything that he does and becomes available. Big fan.
