I didn't get to finish him...still tweaking, but he's coming along.

this is how he looks with a cigar:

and here's the headsculpt without the makeup. I had to cut off his nose and some of his eyebrows:

Thank you. This was my first stab at him in January 2009 with Apoxie.

This sculpey firm is great because you can see every single dent, unlike Super Sculpey which is translucent. The only thing I mind is taking the time to squeeze the clay to prep it before applying it or else it goes on crumbly.

You're going to have the entire cast before long...

...and a damn good looking cast, at that.

Excellent work.

I agree...
I don't see what was wrong with the muzzle either.
But then all apes/chimps look alike to me... ;)

This is the latest...In this photograph you can see how much I have dented in his nose compared to how he was a few minutes before. It's a very minor change but I think a necessary one.

He will probably go through some more minor changes. Kinda hungry now, so I will forage for something to eat, and then I will look at him again and see where to tweak him.

Although I though the first take was a damn fine job, I will admit the second take is definitely more accurate as you can see the depth that John Chambers added to his nostril cavity, which i think you hit right on the head, so to speak.

Bravo out

Some quickie photos. Camera was dying, so this was the best I can do until tomorrow!

I like this shot even though it's blurry:

I used my Julius headsculpt and plopped it onto a Hot Toys gorilla after plucking off the face. I also gave his hair and beard a necessary trim. Tomorrow if I remember, I'm going to try to buy some incense and rig his cigar with it so I could light it. I think it would look super cool.

Julius is smoking an apple/cinnamon spice scented incense because that was the only one they had at the store that was cigar-colored.

Here's Julius again...still lots more work to do. I actually used a Sideshow General Ursus body--adjusted the gloves by removing the bandolier with an exacto knife...and resculpting on top with some kind of air dry medium (not Apoxie)...but similar. I sewed his outfit which still needs some dirtying up because it's too crisp at the moment.
