    Canadian Flag/Patch question

Id like to do some Canadian flag patches and had a question. Some Canadian flags have a red border around the entire flag and some dont. What would be the correct was to display a Canadian flag as a patch, with the red border or without the border. Ive attached a sample of both variations of the flag in question.

The red border doesn't exist on the flag, so I'd say to go without it.

There are subdued patches. The troops just don't wear them during the more "peacekeeping" type roles. During combat ops (like Afghanistan in 2003) they wore them.

    oops my mistake.

Is it possible it could be lake the gold fringe on the us flag ? I mean something that dosent belong there but commonly gets added on to make it look prettier.

    Option Two!

Canadian Flags have been subdued in previous conflicts, but like many national armies, when on peacekeeping missions, Canada likes to show it's identity with a full colour flag patch.

The red & white flag is without a boarder and is ONLY worn on UN missions & on dress uniforms.

The subdued - green on green is worn on combats (BDUs), work dress and non UN missions (or when we'd be in combat, 'cause we'd all rub camm from our face camo on it.)

If you want a real one of each, send me a PM.
