    I miss carded/boxed weapon sets

What happened? All of a sudden (to my knowledge, anyway) there's no more of these sets being made as of late. Zacca, Hot Toys, 21st even though I know they are out of the game...there's been nothing from them for months. I'm not even sure if there are any plans to even release any more carded or blind box sets in the future, which sucks since weapons are getting much more detailed than ever.

I liked paying 10 bucks or less for a single piece, seeing as how that's the price that they go for nowadays, and some twice that. I'm finding it harder and harder to get a lot of the recent, good weapons that are being parted out since I can't check online stores frequently. These sets were a godsend to get awesome weapons without having to resort to paying high prices for them.

    I hear ya there.

The quality has gone up but not enough to warrant the trebling of the price in the SS HK 416. It's not like it's made of metal or anything (like their AK-47). My first guess is that this is the weapon you're talking about since most online retailers just released it parted this week and those not fast enough have missed out on it. Now I see ebay sellers selling it for $30+ buy it now. Yikes!

    Miss em too.

I try to score them here and there on ebay when I can. Never have too many bits right?

Without the carded set, I am going to miss the bits and barbs that eventually became my custom weapons. I just cannot cut up a $15 or more weapon to use as fodder. I really miss SotW and 21st.

Me too. Anyway, most recently was the G36 / Mp7 carded sets by Toyscity / TTL. I hope they hear us and decide to make HK416s and Sig556s. It will make them rich too.

Hot Toys could at least throw us a bone by doing another weapon series. Just what they made for the RE 5 figures would be a whole set. Plus the obvious that they have the molds for these already.

I'd like to see the Mononofu / Boford swords come back. I think it may going on a year or more since the last series.

Hey! it's the guy that made the cool diorama!!! I remember you...

Yeah me too. I wish they had released some sets full of handguns and then others full of smgs. I mean they sell! Why don't they make them??? I would pay $15 a pop for weapons sets and complain about it, but the point is I wold buy it. Weapons sets from companies other than 21c probably didn't do so well cause last I checked the majority, not all, but MOST were of the SAME GUNS... M4's, HK's, etc.

We need sets full of SMG's, and more rarely produced or released firearms.

I remember the Mononofu sets too, those were pretty cool, even if most of the pieces weren't 1/6. But it was a great source of blades and other obscure weapons that would never have been made.

SMGs and pistols would have been great as carded sets, especially with pieces never seen.

Some company should make a science fiction weapons set with the Terminator Plasma Rifle and the Aliens USCM M41A, etc.

Well at least Aoshima came out with the assortment of Steyr assault rifles. You can pick these up for $9 to 11 bucks each. Not much else out there right now. Sob....

They just don't sell very well for now. Some of the retailers still have leftover stocks from previous sets so just wait till the well is totally dry and BAM! we'll get another season of carded weapons.

Yeah, I see a lot of Zacca stuff still leftover at stores, but they were getting better at making stuff that people wanted.

I forgot about the Steyr sets, but those were previously released a long time ago, weren't they? I remember picking up a set when they were first hitting the market, and then they were gone and now recently they are out again. Pretty cool pieces, too. I think they were up to or equal to Dragon's quality too. Nice and clean molding, and some movable parts too.
