From an older post. I love this thread

The shape was cut and the lines were lightly scoured with an x-acto knife. Two light coats of black paint then lightly drybrushed with silver paint. The knobs at the end were spare rifle scope caps.

Weapon harness from 21st Century Toys SWAT Point Man figure. I changed the crappy elastic bands and one piece molded buckles with better webbing and functional buckles. Used thin strips of hockey grip tape to fasten the knife

Tried to replicate a piece of equipment using what I had available. Turned out ok, all things considered. Started with a piece of clear plastic, cut out my design (based mostly off the Sideshow Snake Eyes weapon) from 3 strips then glued them together to get the desired thickness. Filed all the edges down. Two coats of black acylic paint (need to water it down next time) then drybrushed a dark silver for the metal look. The handle was wrapped with thinly cut grip tape used for hocky.

I'll post more of him when I get back. Constructive criticism and tips are welcomed and appreciated. All images are linked to my Flickr gallery (per their policy) if you want to see the high res version. Hope ya like 'em

Second take on the movie promo pic, a little bit brighter than the first

My second sword. Refined my technique and I think the new one is clearly superior to the first. Even learned to cord wrap the handle.

I really like the clean, no frills utilitarian design of this weapon (makes me wonder what Sideshow based their original katana/ninjato from). Silent and efficient. Longer reach than a knife but short enough to be used in tight quarters. I can see Snake Eyes slashing away at multiple vipers with blinding speed or stabbing at the gaps in body armor of Alley Vipers with surgical precision. I'll be using this on a third load out with a custom chest rig.

    Pimp daddy Destro is AWESOME!

Red Shadows are the bad guys from the Action Force comic which is the UK's version of GiJoe
I think. They were also in the DDP run of the American GiJoe

Great looking figures on this thread. You all did a great job. We did a Scarlet a few years ago but sold her on e-bay. I'm sad to say that the pictures we had of her have been lost since then. You gents inspire me to do some more RAH figures.
Thanks for showing us your awesome work.

Holy ... balls there is soooo much coolness just packed into this thread. And I have questions galore now dang it. So... Widescene, how did you get the balaclava on your Beach Head to match the sweater so perfectly? Did you make that custom, or did you just happen to find one that looks just like an extension of the green wooly pully?
Secondly, Dave70B, what armor did you mod or use to make your Trench Viper armor? That is the single sickest Cobra baddie I have ever seen in my live, EVER dude!!

Pimp Destro?!?!?! Zombie Beachead!?!?!? This thread is SOOOOOO awsome!

Custom scabbard modeled mostly from the Side Show Toys gear. Used a strip of channel shaped styrene plastic then applied some fabric to the back then trimmed down

A third version Of Snake Eyes using more custom gear I've made. Added the knobs at the end from the first visor

Working on a 4th version of SE. I've got Shockwave, Lowlight, & Beachead on my to do list.

thanks, was originally going to make a zombie firefly but couldnt find any urban combats. was for joecustoms.com/sideshow collectibles spooktacular contest. my blackout is just about finished, but im working on an alternative version but am regretting it now as his ghillie sheet is taking forever to make!
im making cobra that fit in with my sideshow collection...... so may not be too popular but im really happy with the results. it seems im the only person who likes sideshows uniformed take on cobra, but thats what im going for.....

Keep all the excellent RAH Figs coming , thanks to everyone for making this thread so much fun

    Hawk MMS :
great work on this ver. of Airborne ... nice gear set up on him

    Ross SC :
Excellent work on your figs ..the Cobra troop & beach Head are very cool , But the Zombie Beach Head is crazy . Well done

Air Zeke : Outstanding work on your newest ver. of Snake Eyes ... love the upgrades to the visor & scabbard

Medium Mack : thanks , glad you enjoyed my ver. of Beach Head . Being that I knew it would be impossible to get a sweater / balaclava loose in same dye lot or from diff manufacturer to match up decided to make both from scratch .

Here is a pic of my patterns & pieces while was working on them

Another pic checking length of sweater

Thanks. Kitbashing is one thing, custom stuff like the beachead blaclava and shirt is an entireloy different thing. That is some real work.

Zombie BH is insanely scary. very cool, yet disturbing.

Svantley has so many cobra troopers!!! wish i could get a few blue uniforms/flightsuits/coveralls.

Re: Show us your GI JOE RAH bashes

here is my "real life" Blackout, he's kinda 98% finished, got a couple of little tweaks to make but thought i'd post him now!

I know he looks nothing like blackout, but i wanted to make a believable cobra sniper & as sideshow are releasing one i thought i'd make blackout! do have a head on order that will look more like he does in the comics/original figure, but im pretty happy with this one, i like have cobra with a more uniformed look, the webbing, knee pads & head are from a cobra trooper, on a real type body.

heres a close up of my zombie beachheads face:

not the best of pics, but you kinda kinda see his skin tones.
