An example would be if they use this same body sculpt, but with upgraded ankles. Of course, there's always the possibility they would make a completely different body sculpt to go along with the upgraded ankles.

I see your point, but I figured the change was enough that the .1 increment was warranted. My reasoning was that it's strictly a cosmetic change, but those who care about it would want to know whether a body has it or not. Using the 5.1 to distinguish it from the 5.0 body seemed to do that quickly enough (and more tactfully than saying, "the one with the sculpted vagina and butthole" ).

Considering that we went from v2 to v3 when they didn't do much other than reinforce the elbows, tweak the way the arms fall, and replace the neck peg, I'd say any version that changes the foot enough would be the v6.

It looks like there's a big "Sign Up" message that pops up when you first try to hit the site, but ignore it. It's bogus. I copied the URL from one image and opened a different browser where I don't log into Yahoo, and got the "Sign up" banner. I just pasted the URL back into the address bar to get to the photo, where I could navigate again.

That's really colossally annoying and I'd even say a little shady to make people think they have to register. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Thanks for the info. Two more related questions, though:

Where does v5.0 body fall between v4 and v5.1? Does v5.0 have chest sculpted and painted same as v5.1 and crotch same as v4, or is it otherwise?

Which body type is used on recent "non-basic" figures like Red Riding Hood, Maidservant or Student - v5.0 or v5.1 (or another)?

EDIT on 2nd question - according to eBay auctions photos Red Riding Hood seems to be v4 and Maid is definitely not v5.1

 

My understanding is that the original 5.0 Phicen stainless steel bodies came WITH blushing but without the anatomically correct genitals. However, I'm mostly basing this on what I've heard other people say (and not say, since nobody ever made the comments about how the figure was "very accurate" in the same way they did about these). There was also one round of large-bust Phicen 5.x figures, which I think were also 5.0's, but again that's just a guess.

Almost all of the recent Phicen boxed figures are using 4.0 bodies, including Lady Magician, Red Riding Hood, the Maidservant, the Huntress, and the Last Student. The only boxed figure that comes with the 5.1 body is Shi. Not sure about the upcoming Chinese mliitary figures, but I guess we'll find out soon.

Phicen went after a license for a porn star and apparently this was a requirement. Since they already had this in development for her, they continued to make the bodies as a new standard, just like a typical manufacturer.

 

...wow. That makes sense (although I'm not really interested in the porn star figure). I hope Seka is happy with how her woman-y bits look on the figure, though .
