Like you, I understand about travelling around/across LA.Originally Posted by Impact

For me, it's always about hands-on when it comes to loose parts. While I've looked through their site and found many things I've needed, there are several things I found only by being in the shop and going through the boxes or asking the guys there for help. Just be prepared to know what figure they came off of or you'll be enjoying time sorting through boxes by style and company-which can be fun too!
I'd say to plan to come when they do their next BBQ sunday(it's always announced in advance here on OSW) and come see not only what they have but what other collectors have made (and trade). But make sure you've left yourself enough time!
Or you could always wait til next year's cons to go see them with others, but then you'd only have SOME of their inventory!
But you HAVE to get into their great HOOTERS con party!
(NOT Paid by the EBT or their minions!)
MAIN FORCE PATROL - Giving the People BACK their Heroes!
I think the hours are 11-7 Mon - Sat. Same hours on Sunday unless there's a show somewhere.
For my money, there's no better place than Echobase Toys.

EBT is the only one that I know of in the LA area. There is also Frank and Sons off the 60 Freeway.
Nada in the city of Los Angeles... Just car audio shops and cell phone stores. BTW Pblic Transportation is the way to go... I'm starting to use public transportation more to avoid the traffic head aches.
I'd have to second (or third, or fourth) the comments about Echo Base. They probably aren't the biggest store, but oh so mighty!
An excellent general purpose hobby shop (models, games, books, paints, etc.) with a decent assortment of sixth scale is Brookhurst Hobbys in Garden Grove, down behind the Orange Curtain (in Orange County, about 30 to 45 minutes from LA:
Enjoy your visit: protect your wallet, don't drink the water, and watch for falling stars!
so how far is echo base toys from camp pendleton?
Its about 3 hours away from pendleton. 2 1/2 hours north of SD and less than an hour east of LA
in west Los Angeles there is big Lou's Toys and Collectibles at Sepulveda and Sawtelle, dream world comics and collectibles at Washington and Centinela ( Culver City), and puzzle zoo on the thrid street promenade (Santa Monica). these stores have some 1/6 Big Lou's has loose figure parts and carries some classic gi joe sets, also i bought some 21stC Vietnam sets there and constantly find military pouches and gear in the bins, and if you must a new store has opened called 3c comics and collectibles on Washington pl. and Sawtelle Blvd. the have bbi cy girl sets. and some hasbro indiana jones sets.
