Dear all,

More and more members are asking me for shopping guide in Hong Kong, so for those who are planning to come, or will have friends or relatives or colleague coming over to my Birth Place, please feel free to go to my gallery for this quick guide. It contains nine main shops in Hong Kong that is distributing and spare parts selling, all within 10 to 15 minutes walk, all around Mong Kok MTR (Underground, Metro... whatever).

http://www.onesixthwarriors.com/pho...rt/1/perpage/15/password//ppuser/2606/stype/0

I am afraid you will have to see the pics in reverse order to complete the Tour (sorry!!!)

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
These pics are not at all authorized by the owners, and if any of you great shops' owners see this, please forgive me for promoting your shops to overseas 1/6 lovers, I love this hobby, and I love all your shops (eventhough I am never a big spender and like to look around many times for items and prices, I am not very rich), and to promote this industry and Hong Kong's Tourism in General, please forgive for any inconvenience that is caused for this publication. I always enjoy shopping at all your great shops! and I am sure all 1/6 lovers/ visitors will do too.

AMMENDMENTS and NOTES on Main plan:
1) CTMA Centre should be location D, while C (Sino Plaza) behind CTMA facing Nathan Road is actually a good place for CDs and DVDs, much much cheaper than HMVs, good as new second hand DVDs and CDs man!!! and on the 12th Floor (use the Lift) there is a big shop for that!

2) If any of you members have problems locating these shops while in Hong Kong, please feel free to contact me at 62929705, I can take you there whenever I can!

Hope this would help you guys, I assure you that things are a lot cheaper here, and if you wanna get 1/6 in HK, these nine shops is it, I go to them everyweek, being so lucky in Hong Kong as I am, I am honored to be sharing with you!

And one last dedication, I would like to dedicated this Guide to Pukingdog, man, I don't know you, but you are one hell of a Military Expert and good Administrator, if I ever was in the Army, I would be happy to serve with you anytime!

You can add Foxtrot Uniform Kilo Wing Street* (between numbers 30-50) in Sham Shui Po.

Take the MTR to Sham Shui Po and look for the exit to ... Wing Street. It's only a 2 minute walk which takes you through a market - look out for some repro camo gear here. I bought 3 'Saigon Cowboy' bush hats for HK$120, which is around US$15, or around US$5 a pop. (I could probably have got the price down if I'd haggled, but I'd had a long day and honestly couldn't be bothered).

This area of Foxtrot Uniform Kilo Wing Street is known as 'Gift Street' - I was there to buy small presents for pass the parcel and party bags for my daughter's 8th birthday party. You have to look in each shop, but I found quite a bit of Fem stuff, comic-related figurines etc., 1/6th scale metal weapon key rings, a box full of cheap bendy-plastic SA80's (for HK$2 each!), and TUS boxed figures - the Mad Bomber, Tank Commander and Afghanistan Speznatz.

Well worth a look.

*The wonderful word censor won't let me put the first part of the word which is why I've had to spell it out!

Just got back from a holiday in Guangzhou in China and Hong Kong. I checked out all of the 1/6 shops listed in this thread and it proved to be invaluable information. Having exact locations meant there was little time lost in trying to find them. My favorites were in Richmond shopping arcade and In's Point in Mongkok.

I'm trying to get in touch with a store owner in Richmond. Her name was Denise, and was originally from Canada. She was kind enough to write contact information on the back of her business card for me. Sadly, in the melee of packing to return to the UK that same night, i managed to lose the card. I was hoping to find it among the $1700 HKD worth of purchases from her store when we got back home, but there is no sign of it. If anyone in Hong Kong is visiting her store and can provide contact details, i would be most grateful.

The shop in question was on the 2nd floor. It was quite small (barely big enough for 2 people to stand inside) and located on a corner. Below is a picture of another shop on the same floor. I'm pretty sure the shop i'm looking for was right next to the one in the picture. I think there was only 1 other 1/6 shop on this floor.

Hi Guys, any updates for any 1/6 new stores in HK? . i'm planning to spend my new year there. i already been there earlier this year but only managed to found In's, Toyshunter ,Superman and the one in Causeway Bay. but last time i'was only looking for HT boxes toys only, this time i will looking for ThreeA toys also, any infos where can i find some store that carry a collection of ThreeA's? Thank you guys

hi Guys, once again thx for the infos. so the first place i visit is Richmond 111 at Mongkok, Argyle street, thank you for mr. Doly for the infos, i managed to get some 1/6 weapons, loose 3a zombs at very cheap price, and some 1/6 boots, uniforms etc.
Then i planned to go to In's point, at Nathans Road, also in Mongkok. since i have visit em two years ago, so its easier to spot em, and i dunno, maybe it just my thoughts or the 1/6 stores wasn't as many as my last visit, now lot of the stores selling Legos.but i managed to score HT Batman begins sdcc and John Connor final battle, not cheap, but i've been looking for em.
inbetween the Richmond 111 and In's point, i visit Toyshunter, i think they just released the Ironmonger and Capt America Avengers, coz i saw alot of locals are picking up their PO's. if you didnt PO them i guess you can't get em at the Toyshunter since i saw "SOLD OUT" sign on the display for those twos.
And Superman Toys which is located at the right side of the Toyhunter, they sell alot of Kamen riders stuff and some 1/6 medicom, also vinyl toys.
By the way, i had problem finding Richmond at the first place, maybe because i was confused by the signage of the location with the pic on previous page, this is what i saw:

And then i also had a chance to visit UML Hobby shop at Causeway Bay, all the Dragon's stuff are there, and then i visit ToysCity not far from UML,they sell HT boxes figures,Threea toys, Enterbay etc. there are like only 3 or 4 toy store in this location. some of them selling comics.
again, Thank you for the members for the help so i can have a good trip at HK!!!

Sounds like you had a blast. I was in Hong Kong in October, and brought back a trolley case full of 1/6 booty. Lots of loose parts, bodies, outfits and weapons. No boxed figures as they were too bulky although there were good deals to be had, the Tron Lightcycle for instance.

In addition to the places already mentioned, Paradise Shopping Square, along Kwong Wa Street is worth seeing. There are a couple of 1/6 stores here, Enterbay's shop is in this area. There are many model and RC shops as well, but Airsoft retailers are the main feature. Typical prices for rifles were about a 1/3 of what you could expect to pay within the UK. I could have cried, there was so much cool stuff here, but there was no way i could bring any of it into the UK legally, never mind trying to get through customs with it. :fit

I went to HK this month and I tried to visit every 1/6 store mentioned in this thread and on Sean's blog. Some are closed/gone already. In my opinion, you only need to go to 2 places: In's Point mall and Richmond 111 mall. They are 1/6 utopias with multiple floors of 1/6 dealers. They are also the only places with loose parts dealers.

BAD:
Hot, new boxed figures are NOT CHEAP! For Americans, the prices are higher than what you would pay including shipping from sideshowtoy.com! You can haggle for a better price, but you would have to do that in every single store.

Many stores are not setup for browsing. Very, very cramped with boxes stacked 4 deep. One guy's store looked like a storage room. Not even he could fit inside, so he just stood in the doorway and reached in over the boxes!

Very little second-hand stuff (1/6)

GOOD:
- You can negotiate for good prices on older, less popular boxed figures.
- A handful of dealers offer high quality, low cost counterfeit headsculpts of HT & Medicom heads. $10-15 US.

I went to Akihibara in Tokyo as well and I have to say: I almost prefer 1/6 shopping in Tokyo. There is no haggling - Stuff on discount is clearly marked. The stores are easy to browse and well-laid out. Aki has a couple of toy stores with very well-stocked 1/6 sections. Finally, Japanese have a lot of second-hand/consignment stores where you can find gems - I got a Medicom Stylish Collection Lupin series fig for $12!

The major advantage of HK is the shops with loose parts & accessories and the counterfeit/custom goods. If you like haggling, HK can be good too. You do get to know the dealers better, some of whom are pretty cool people who are actually 1/6 fans.

just want to contribute to the thread here...

as far as i know the link below listed most of the stores selling onesixth :

http://testicular-fortitude.blogspot.com/2009/01/animate-sai-yeung-choi-street-south.html

but the link is created in 2009, and i think its time to add some update to it.
i've just got back from hongkong last week and were able to visit some of the listed places.
so, here we go :

KOWLOON

Richmond 111 :

this is a 4-storey building (basement + floor 1-3) packed with action figure seller with majority of one-sixth figures. i find 1 shop in the basement which sell kitbash parts and also hottoys boxsets. the price is just right, not too expensive but absolutely not cheap either. beware of some of their kitbash stuff because they're mostly custom made or recast of hottoys parts.
on the 1st floor just to the right of the escalator is Figure Station which specialized in kitbashes and parts also. they have lots of VHT stuff, ZCWO, Mens Homme, Phicen bodies and other non-hottoys products. if you like kitbashing, this shop will blow your mind for real !!! the price is reasonably cheap here.
on the 2nd floor there's 1 notable shop which stocks quite lots of hottoys boxsets. i forgot the name of the shop but it is located just around the corner next to the escalator going to the 3rd floor. some boxsets are sold very cheap here.
i dont see any notable shops on the 3rd floor.

Toy Hunters (supposedly inside of CTMA building)

i circled CTMA twice but could never find this shop.

CTMA :

this 4-storey shopping arcade is a collection of
- japanese manga shops,
- Asian porn stuff shops
- cd/DVD/bluray movies & music shops
- console gaming
- action figure shops
beware those travelling with children because of adult content in this place.
worth noted is that there is a one-sixth shop in the basement (animate) and one on the 2nd floor (black cat collection or something)
on the 3rd floor there's a shop in the corner of the building selling lots of playarts stuff.. forgot the name also...
i feel that CTMA is rather not worth to visit if you're into hottoys or kitbash parts because most one-sixth shops here sell their boxset stuff at higher prices than the shops in richmond or in's point, and i found no shop which sell kitbash parts here.

Toy Soldier

did not have the chance to check this one out.

In's Point

this is another 3-storey building packed, i mean REALLY PACKED, with action figure store. this one is a must-go place after richmond.
this place is the place to be if you're interested in hottoys because there are lots of store sell boxsets here. some stores in the 2nd floor sell kitbash & parts & custom / recast heads. they're of good quality with reasonable prices too.
the real bargain came from GOOD TOYS store, located just to the right when you enter 2nd floor from the escalator. it's in the corner of the building actually.
they sell "2nd after display" boxsets at low prices (around HKD200-300 less than the sealed ones). so the figures are still in very good condition / like new, with only their packaging have been unsealed and the plastic wrappings around the headsculpts and any other body parts removed because they've been used for displays. i got 3 boxsets from this place alone.
other than that store, i saw many stores stocks saint cloth myth series and figmas and playarts.
if you know Kato the dress-maker for onesixth figure, he has a shop in this place and you can see his works in the window display. but of the three times i wenthere the store was always closed.

Yan On Building

did not have the chance to check this one out either.

Sino Centre

same review with CTMA!!!!

UML Hobby

tried no find this place, but sadly i think this place is no longer exist...

Animate

inside the CTMA/Sino centre. now located in the basement instead of on the 2nd floor. if you're looking for a bargain price, you can skip this one. they have relatively high prices compared to other shops. so unless you know the owner or you feel very rich, i suggest you save your time and feet.

Sham Shui Po

did not have the chance to check this one out either.

HONGKONG ISLAND

Causeway Bay

Toys R US

i checked out Windsor Place's Toys R Us and...
no longer worth your effort if you're into one-sixth or any adult toys/collections. TRU only sell children toys!!!

Toyzone

this place is also no longer exist...
i went back to this building twice just to find out that it's already closed.
the only place in this building that has anything to do with toys is on the 10th floor which is labeled as Universal toys. however, when i visited it, it's not a store but an office. maybe of a big toy company as it has many staffs sitting in their desks which is full of paper stacks, all across the room but not 1 action figure in sight.

TMT Hobby

did not have the chance to check this one out either.

Wan Chai

Oriental 188

did not go to this one because some people say they dont sell one-sixth.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. END OF REVIEW $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

overall, i agree with zombie ipkevin above me...
hongkong is no more action figure haven (1/6) as thailand or singapore.
might be the new haven to be is shenzhen or guangzhou.
the prices in my country (indonesia) is still the best so far...
will still hunting for other alternative...

i will update this post with pictures, stay tune folks...

I posted these videos in another thread, but felt there were more useful for reference here.

Found some videos of Richmond arcade and In's point, which are worth checking out if you've never been before. Most of the shops are quite small, but have so much stock packed into them, it's barely big enough to stand inside.

I was in HK a little over a week ago. We stayed in Mongkok and I made the rounds to Sino Center, CTMA Center, Richmond Shopping Arcade, and In's Point.

As previous members posted, each of these places has several floors of toy stores. To alleviate your concerns, while Richmond's stores had the best displays (in my opinion), they are still stores. Each shop is literally stacked full with boxes. In general, each store will have a narrow path (fits one person) so you'll need a keen eye to spot the figures you're looking for.

Since I was in the market for hard to find Batman Hot Toys, I made a list of the figures I found and the prices at each location. From the four places I went to, CTMA Center had the highest prices. Plan B Toys (basement CTMA Center) has a lot of hard to find Hot Toys, so you can always snag them there if strike out elsewhere.

Somewhat surprisingly, Toy Hunters (Hot Toys' store in CTMA Center) still had a lot of Selina Kyles in stock. They also had some Ada Wongs in stock too.

In's Point and Richmond Centre are the best bets, plus Seven in Ginza Plaza (see above).

The shops don't open much before 5.00 p.m., so around 7.00 p.m. is good.

The Universal Model Shops have moved, they may still be worth a look in case they still have some 1/6th stock.

G/F - 3/F, 5 Pennington Street, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong 12:00 - 21:00 (Mon - Sun) (852) 2577 5950

Shop C, G/F Mainway Court. No. 15 - 33 Kwong Wa Street, Mongkok, Kowloon 11:30 - 20:30 (Mon - Sun) (852) 2781 1363

G/F, 63 Waterloo Road, Mongkok, Kowloon 11:30 - 20:30 (Mon - Sun) (852) 2714 1268

I'd love to try and meet you but I'm afraid it's just not possible this month.
