Question Re: Unofficial 1/6 Shopping Guide In Hong Kong

Finally managed to go to HK due to unexpected delay at JFK airport

I wish I'd memorized everything in this thread because I only found Toy Hunters and Superman Toys at CTMA Centre. If only I'd explored the basement....

Bad timing too since I only had 4 hours to explore HK. I arrived at 12.00 AM at CTMA and nearly all stores were still closed. Toy Hunters opened their shop late (supposed to be 1.00 PM but the keeper opened at 1.15 PM). And most of the HT figures inside were either sold out or belonged to somebody....

Does everybody in HK preorder their HT stuffs? There were like 8 IRON MAN Mk.III, 2 female Secret Service, 2 Bank Robber Joker, One Batpod, 2 new suit Batman etc in the store and I couldn't pick up even one to bring home

I only managed to score the male Secret Service (the last in the store and I was surprised it didn't belong to somebody) and one Deunan Knute Snap Kit figure.

Re: Unofficial 1/6 Shopping Guide In Hong Kong

A silly question from me, what's the alternative places to find boxed Hot Toys figures besides Toy Hunters? I plan to go to HK again at around July or August this year. It sucks big time going to Toy Hunters and finding that nearly all the cool items available there are already owned by someone else.

Oh, and what time of the year is the sale going on usually?

YIIIIIKES!!! I just found this thread, didn't know it existed. I'm politicking to be appointed OSW's ambassador to Hong Kong (yeah, I know - we already have a boatload of members there, don't tell Norm). The pics look like Onesix SantaLand.

Ross, I'm going Macau from 30th Dec till 3rd Jan and I'm looking to go to HK again for at least half a day (the later half when the shops open).

Specifically, looking to buy 1/6 stuff then other toys (Unless there's Domokun) =]

Re: Unofficial 1/6 Shopping Guide In Hong Kong

Thanks to ActionMan and shaun, I just spent the last 2 hours scouring almost all stores for 1/6 items and Gundam kits in their HK store map.

Due to time constraint, I ended up only buying Black Widow and Jill at Toy Hunters and 2 boxes of Gundam kits from a store in CTMA Centre basement, but both at really great prices. Thanks again guys. Really appreciate it.

Good question - I haven't been on a 1/6th mission for quite a few months now. I'll try and do one next week and see what's changed.

Re: Unofficial 1/6 Shopping Guide In Hong Kong

You can add Foxtrot Uniform Kilo Wing Street* (between numbers 30-50) in Sham Shui Po.

Take the MTR to Sham Shui Po and look for the exit to ... Wing Street. It's only a 2 minute walk which takes you through a market - look out for some repro camo gear here. I bought 3 'Saigon Cowboy' bush hats for HK$120, which is around US$15, or around US$5 a pop. (I could probably have got the price down if I'd haggled, but I'd had a long day and honestly couldn't be bothered).

This area of Foxtrot Uniform Kilo Wing Street is known as 'Gift Street' - I was there to buy small presents for pass the parcel and party bags for my daughter's 8th birthday party. You have to look in each shop, but I found quite a bit of Fem stuff, comic-related figurines etc., 1/6th scale metal weapon key rings, a box full of cheap bendy-plastic SA80's (for HK$2 each!), and TUS boxed figures - the Mad Bomber, Tank Commander and Afghanistan Speznatz.

    Well worth a look.

*The wonderful word censor won't let me put the first part of the word which is why I've had to spell it out!

Hey guys, which are the shops that sell Hot Toys figures?

I'll be making a trip down to HK from the 22nd to 26th this month and was hoping to see if I can get my hands on the latest releases such as Hawkeye and Luke Skywalker if possible.

    Thanks!

Re: Unofficial 1/6 Shopping Guide In Hong Kong

Just got back from a holiday in Guangzhou in China and Hong Kong. I checked out all of the 1/6 shops listed in this thread and it proved to be invaluable information. Having exact locations meant there was little time lost in trying to find them. My favorites were in Richmond shopping arcade and In's Point in Mongkok.

I'm trying to get in touch with a store owner in Richmond. Her name was Denise, and was originally from Canada. She was kind enough to write contact information on the back of her business card for me. Sadly, in the melee of packing to return to the UK that same night, i managed to lose the card. I was hoping to find it among the $1700 HKD worth of purchases from her store when we got back home, but there is no sign of it. If anyone in Hong Kong is visiting her store and can provide contact details, i would be most grateful.

The shop in question was on the 2nd floor. It was quite small (barely big enough for 2 people to stand inside) and located on a corner. Below is a picture of another shop on the same floor. I'm pretty sure the shop i'm looking for was right next to the one in the picture. I think there was only 1 other 1/6 shop on this floor.
