    M60...

I was wondering, is the M60 still in use? Maybe a stupid question I know but I am looking for a machine gun for my SEAL (Op Neptune's spear bash).
    Or maybe the M249?
    Thanks for the help.

    Re: M60...

US Navy and Coast Guard supposedly still use them.

Danish Army is buying M60E6's to replace MG3's (7.62mm NATO MG42), and a good number of smaller armed forces use them.

As an aside, the RAF use M60's on the ramp of their Chinooks. It's something to do with the M60 being certified for the Chinook. To use something else would mean testing and certification.

I think the pintle mounts are a good clue that the Neptune Spear guys wouldn't lug around the 60 or GPMG. Even their M60E3s are still pretty heavy, and the M249 is heavier yet. I don't remember any mention of those weapons being carried on the raid, heavier support fire possibly being available from the helos. That's just my WAG.
