I'm pretty excited about this announcement. I've never been to a G.I. Joe convention before and seeing that it's so close to home I don't see why I wouldn't take the trip. Not only that but it will also give me an opportunity to check out the other Springfield IL attractions.

Will there be much about the 12" Joes covered at the Convention?

I live in Springfield and will attend if there is something about GI Joe figures other than the 3 3/4 figures. I packed up all my 3 3/4 Joes years ago and just started kitbashing 1:6th scale recently.

I can only assume there will be some 12" Joe related stuff but I'm not 100%. Either way I still plan to go.

I guess the short answer is; what 12" Joes? They don't make them anymore. Heck, they barely make ANY G.I.Joes anymore.

Based on reports from the last couple Conventions, I'd say there will be mostly 3 3/4" items/dealers, and a few 12" dealers. And many of the few 12" dealers will have 60's/70's Joes. HT, BBi, DML, 21st, etc, etc will be few and far between. The exclusives will most likley be 3 3/4", with one or two vintage style 12" sets.

And Hasbro did NOT attend the Con this year, so they probably won't be there showing anything next year. If they are, most believe it will be more 3 3/4" and Kreo (Lego size) figures for the next movie.

BTW, for the record; the location of the Con is completely unfair to those living west of Texas, who haven't had a local club Convention in 11 years.

I attended 2 years ago as a dealer, and I'm planning to this time around as well. While I have a ton of 12" product (older Sideshow, Hot Toys, Dragon, 21C) the sales were a lot better for the 3 & 3/4" line. I'm more likely to bring 3 & 3/4" stuff than 12".

There were a few dealers with 12" stuff. I picked up a few things. I had heard that the 12" offerings this past year were better than the year I went so take it from there.

Whose going? I intend to go Saturday. Even if theres not a lot of 12 stuff for sale I'll bring some figures just for photo ops.

I plan to go even if the sixth scale stuff is limited because I live in Springfield.

I hope there might be something in our favorite scale, but it should be fun anyway.

Here are some of the pics of our trip to Springfield and Joe Con 2015. At the convention there were lots of vendors selling 3 3/4, 12 inch vintage and newer G.I. Joe figures. I was also really surprised to see a pretty nice size section selling 1:6 stuff coming straight out of San Antonio, TX. (4gotten.com (http://4gotten.com/)) All in all it was tons of fun! We were glad we made it out there.

We also extended our stay to check out the museums and historical sites Springfield had to offer. There was definitely lots of Lincoln and Springfield to learn about.

I was very happy to see the offerings from the Forgotten Treasures tables. I scored a couple of DML and BBi boxed and loose figures, as well as some loose items they had in bins. I just missed out on a Hasbro Hummer they sold with 3 figures for $100. Just wish I had more cash to spend. :drool
