Here is how I made my custom M4 stock. It is made out of styrene tubing, u-channel, and square rod.

To start you need:

1/4 styrene round tube
7/32 styrene round tube
3/16 styrene round tube
5/32 styrene round tube
3/32 styrene round tube

1/16 styrene round rod
1/32 styrene round rod

3/32 styrene square rod

5/32 styrene u-channel

Cut the following to the length given as shown in figure 1.

1/4 styrene round tube cut to a length of 1.9 cm
7/32 styrene round tube cut to a length of 1.3 cm
3/16 styrene round tube cut to a length of 1.9 cm and 0.4 cm
5/32 styrene round tube cut to a length of 5/32 inch
3/32 styrene round tube cut to a length of 1/8 inch
3/32 styrene square rod cut to a length of 1.3 cm and 1.7 cm

Now drill the hole in the 7/32 tube to be 3/16 inch. Then glue the 3/16 inch by 1.9 cm in the 7/32 tube with about 2 mm inside of the tube.

Now while this dries or cures take the 3/32 inch by 1.3 cm square rod and file out a groove in the middle, about 3 mm from one of the ends. Also take a round file and curve the bottom of the rod to make it fit snuggly on the 7/32 tube and glue it.

Next, cut a 1/16 inch channel in the 1/8 inch tube with about 3 mm on the end left.

Now take the 3/32 inch by 1.7 cm square rod and file one end curved. Drill a 1/32 hole and glue a 1/32 rod in it as shown.

Next we will take the 3/32 by 1/8 inch round tube and put a 1/32 rod through it and glue it in place.

Now glue the 5/32 by 5/32 inch round tube and glue the 3/32 tube in the middle of this one.

File a round slot into the bottom of the 7/32 inch tube.

Now glue the pieces to together as shown below.

Then cut and glue some 3/32 square rod to connect the round part to the bottom to the back part. Also drill a 1/16 inch hole in the opposite end of the stock going up and down.

Now insert the stock in to the end of the 1/8 tube and glue the 3/16 by 0.4 cm tube in the end with the open end of the channel. Make sure that the stock can close all the way before you glue.

Now take out the stock and file it to the shape shown below.

Now is a good time to put body filler on the lower triangle part and file round slots in the telescoping part of the stock.

https://www.onesixthwarriors.com/photo/data/500/M4_Stock_017.JPG

While this dries you need to take a piece of the u-channel and cut out the middle for part of it (this part will go under the tube in the triangle) and make the shaped part below it out of styrene flat sheet.

https://www.onesixthwarriors.com/photo/data/500/M4_Stock_018.JPG

Now after sanding the triangle part smooth glue u-channel to the bottom parts of the stock as shown.

https://www.onesixthwarriors.com/photo/data/500/M4_Stock_019.JPG

Connect the parts at the bottomed with another u-channel and file to the shape below.

Now insert the stock in to the 1/8 inch tube and put a 1/16 in rod into the hole at the end. This keeps the stock from coming out.

And there you go a custom stock for your M4. I added a butt pad and a piece of half round to the stock. Now just paint and post it on the board to show off your handy work.

Thanks everyone. Make sure you post them when you get them.

Pairaka-
from hobby stores. They have a spinner with all of the styrene on it in white and green plastic bags. I would guess you could get it online but it is soft material so it may break in the mail.
