I have been working on several camo patterns in the past and have recently scaled some down to 1/6 scale for custom figure mods. I have started with some German camo patterns and will add more soon. I also take special requests so if you have an idea I'm all ears! If you want to check it out or make some custom uniforms all you have to do is order the amount you want through Spoonflower!

Here is the link to Spoonflower: (make sure you select the 1/6 scale patterns, I have full scale prints as well!)

Ricraynor, I could help you with the multicam, it's a side project I'm working on as well. I was going to scan some actual fabric and use that as the template. Would you be interested in anything I've got? It might help your work a lot.

Every little bit can help! I could use the scan at least of the complete pattern. Thanks!

WWII US Camo, Mitchell Leaf Camo and ERDL are finished up and ready for sale! Also as an added bonus I have a Sci Fi Marine camo...

I am also having trouble finding a good source material for British DPM and if anyone has a good high resolution photo of material (flat material no uniform pictures) that would help greatly in speeding up the DPM camo.

Hi Ric,

Nice work - I've also posted a thread about your camo sheets over on http://www.onesixth.co.uk

Please feel free to join there so you can update your range of camo for sale. (It could also be a good source for DPM source material. NB - Some 'free email domains like gmail etc. are banned to prevent spam, if you have any problems please PM me here).

are the pictures 'light' or are the patterns a bit faded with less ink saturation?

are these printed to fabric paper via inkjet? are they colorfast?

regardless, it's nice to have all of these options - amazing selection.

take care.

It's a light fabric fantastic for 1/6th scale with a very good printing. I did everything with it and had no problems with the colour. I sew it, wrinkle it and rub it- nothing happens- fantastic stuff.

You can see it on my German Bundeswehr Uniform 1956- WIP:

All of my patterns are printed via Spoonflower and use real fabric. The inks are made for fabrics and are cured so that they won't just wash off later. I started using this service originally to make 1:1 uniforms and thought it would work great for 1:6, so far so good!

Bernd, the Bundeswehr uniform looks amazing!

I know the AOR2 looks pretty close to MARPAT, but it actually is pretty close. If there is ever a problem with the colors let me know and I'll get it fixed up. I can also switch out colors if anyone wants something unique.

Here is actual MARPAT (Left) and AOR2 (Right) for comparison (AOR2 is supposed to be rotated 90 degrees)

Ricraynor,

Any chance you can convert one of your 1:6 scale WWII USMC Marine and Army camo patterns to 1:3 scale? I need some "close enough" GI Joe Adventure Team camo for a project. I can't apparently send you a PM.

Thanks,

Aaron

Hello all!

It's been a while since I've updated this thread but I wanted to let everyone know that I've got a bunch of new 1/6 scale patterns available as well as some new 1/4 scale camo for anyone that works in that scale. I'm still working at adding more as I have time and will be working on the ANA digital pattern as well. Thanks again to everyone who has supported this project!

Here is a preview of the new 1/6 and 1/4 scale SS camo:

Can you order in Yardage?

Would it be possible to "tweak" the flecktarn into colors similar to Swiss Alpenflauge?

Got a custom I'm working on that could sorely use some!

Yardage is available on Spoonflower and I'll see about working on the Alpenflage colorway for the Flecktarn.

WOW!

Just stumbled on this thread. Fantastic work.

It would be helpful for those of us that have never sewn a full uniform to have some sewing patterns. Anybody have some?

Great work again Ric. When I learn how to sew I'd be interested in ATACS.

I've also had customers from Brazil and especially Columbia interested in their uniforms and gear.

What type of fabric, of all those different types Spoonflower offers, is suitable for 1:6 sewing? I imagine it should be as thin as possible...? What kind should I choose, any ideas?

ricraynor
11-11-2016, 08:48
I usually just use the basic cotton, it's the thinnest and the cheapest and looks good on the finished product.
