Ok, I am relatively new to the world of 1/6 customs. I hope you guys welcome me with helping hands... literally.

I am trying to plan out a 1/6 Michael Keaton Batman. I've seen a few vinyl conversions and I would like make one as well but I don't know where to begin or what materials I would need. However I have a few ideas:

a good vinyl model kit 1/6 scaled
an articulate 1/6 scale body
and some leather for the body suit.

where can i find a model kit with a good likeness of Keaton?
whats the best body to use?
whats the best leather to use?

please help me out guys!

Kenny, do a search for 1/6 Batman and you'll see some of the older Keaton Batman kits. Find the one in vinyl from Batman Returns. It is probably the only kit that features a Batman standing straight up. That way, you can cut the vinyl pieces out to use on the articulated body. Since a lot of the kits are out of production, they can be pretty pricey - probably about $100+ for the originals and about $30-40 for repros.

DML is your best choice for the body since it is the skinniest and best articulated without sacrificing the "natural" look. You can also check out the Worthfield "Real Guy" bodies, but they can be pretty pricey as well.

For the suit, there aren't a whole lot of leather bodysuits that are readily made so you'll probably have to sew your own and the best material to use is lightweight pleather, which is basically plastic leather made for sewing. There are, however, tons of spandex suits you can find on eBay.

That kit is in resin, which is hard as rock and like a statue so you probably can't use it.

The Batman I had was from Shawn through Sovereign Models. You can buy one from Shawn through his site or on eBay, which would save yourself some trouble:
