Hi to all,

I meant to post this before, but i forgot to... sorry :O

I was originally given this information by MisterScruffUK, about this source of wooden bases, so all credit must go to him.
I have recently received 5 of the large 140mm round bases, and i must say that they are superb.
And just the right size for 1/6th scale figures.

They come in the following sizes:

75mm @ 80p each.
100mm @ 1-10 each.
140mm @ 1-30 each these are all round bases.
They also have an oval base 102mm x 80mm @ 1-50 each.
All plus postage.

Details from the leaflet i have as follows:

These bases are sold Beechwood with a natural sanded finish.
And they can be stained, varnished or painted to your requirements.

All orders are sent by First Class Post, and all cheques must be made payable to "Mrs J.E. Hails" and sent to the address below.
Orders of 10 or more bases in the same size = 10% discount.
Telephone for the correct postage amount for the order.

Below are some images of how i have used the 140mm sized base, for my Dragon 1/6th scale figures:

Hi again,

I have just had an e-mail from the very nice lady that sells these bases.
And she has asked me to pass on this information to you all:

Just a short e-mail to let you know that although I will be away from 3rd March until 19th March.

I had intended to have a promotion of my 140mm Bases.

For March only they will be 1-10 each.

If you wish to order these will you let me know as soon as possible and I will deal with your order on my return.

Maybe you would be kind enough to pass this on to your modelling forums.

These look very nice and a good size, you can make something nice for your figure without having to do big full blown base.

Does she ship to the U.S. ?

Also have you noticed any warping? One thing I've not liked about the bases many folks pick up from Micheal's here in the states are that they are made from pine and most times the base is not flat on the bottom. They're always warped to some degree.

You should be able to find a similar product at a smaller crafts store than Micheal's, one whose buyers aren't run off their feet with the sheer volume of stuff that needs to be brought in, and where quality assurance is a neccesary step instead of a stumbling block.

Hi to all,

Regarding these bases i can assure you that they are great, and very flat on the bottom.
I have 5 of them that i have ordered, and i am very impressed with them all.
Regarding shipping to the U.S., i believe that the lady will.
You need to contact her by e-mail, but as i said in my updated post above.
She will be away until the 19th March 2005.

Regarding using the bases, i have a link below to show how i used them.
And it also gives you an idea of the 140mm base in relation to a 12" figure.
