Hi guys, remember me?, I'm back for this weekend ... at least.
Ok here we go with another HMMWV tutorial
It's turret time ....
Go to the kitchen, and steal something like this ....
http://a0.cpimg.com/image/CE/50/31230670-b1c0-02000180-.jpg
That's 6 1/2" diameter...
http://a5.cpimg.com/image/0F/53/31230735-006e-02000180-.jpg
Now, go to your closer hobby store and get this (0.080" thick, styrene sheet):
http://a3.cpimg.com/image/DF/59/31230943-8b53-02000180-.jpg
Place the plate on top the styrene sheet and draw a circle like this ....
http://a1.cpimg.com/image/0D/42/31230221-182d-02000180-.jpg
Find the center of circle ... that's gonna be your homework .. :banana. and somebody please, post how to find the center for the guys ...
http://a1.cpimg.com/image/35/43/31230261-4f03-02000180-.jpg
Next ....
http://a2.cpimg.com/image/68/45/31230312-c1dd-02000180-.jpg
Ok, draw an inner circle, diameter:. 5 -1/4"
http://a7.cpimg.com/image/81/46/31230337-e891-02000180-.jpg
Trace a parellel line to the horizontal one, 2-1/2" from center, as shown ...
http://a7.cpimg.com/image/9F/47/31230367-834a-02000180-.jpg
Now, trace a parellel line to the vertical, 1-15/16" from center to right side, as shown ...
http://a9.cpimg.com/image/B5/47/31230389-950e-02000180-.jpg
On the bottom horizontal line, mark a dot to right side @ 5/16" from center
http://a5.cpimg.com/image/4B/55/31230795-f19d-02000180-.jpg
On your right vertical line, mark another dot from top intersection @ 1-4/16" downwards.
http://a5.cpimg.com/image/87/56/31230855-055c-02000180-.jpg
Use the same plate to trace a curved line between those two dots.
http://a9.cpimg.com/image/E7/49/31230439-0d88-02000180-.jpg
Now, this time to the left side of the first horizontal line, mark another point @ 2-1/4" from center.
http://a8.cpimg.com/image/0E/4A/31230478-1953-02000180-.jpg
Trace a verical line @ that point....
http://a9.cpimg.com/image/4B/4C/31230539-cf3f-02000180-.jpg
Draw a 60 degrees triangle as shown....
http://a9.cpimg.com/image/69/4D/31230569-331f-02000180-.jpg
Mark these two sides of triangle @ 1-14/16"
http://a0.cpimg.com/image/7E/4E/31230590-363f-02000180-.jpg
Trace a vertical line from one point to the other ...
And start cutting.
Remember, use a fine sharp tip, like x-acto no. 2
http://a4.cpimg.com/image/54/FA/31235924-675e-02000180-.jpg
do the outside first ....
http://a6.cpimg.com/image/06/F7/31235846-8249-02000180-.jpg
then the inside ....
http://a8.cpimg.com/image/B2/FD/31236018-af47-02000180-.jpg
You can use this fancy tool I found the other day for circle cutting.
you can cut up to 5-1/4" of diameter with it.
It won't work for the outside circle though.

Stay tune for 2nd part ....
Cheers :cheers
