I was wondering if anyone has a how-to on tying up rope bundles like in the picture. I have tried and just not doing something right... flunked out of Boy Scout knot tying... or if anyone knows of a good web site that might help.

Mucho appreciado...

Try this:

Startby looping your lenth of rope like this:

Make sure to leave yourself enough length to wrap around it.

Next, wrap the spare length around the loops, leaving a small amount sticking out at either end:

Once you have wrapped the whole length, run the free end through one of the loops:

find the other end of the loop and pull:

this should hold the loose end and keep it from unravelling.

Yes, that is correct.

I'll add that without prior knowledge and someone there showing you how to calculate it, you will undoubtedly come up either short or with excess line after winding. Just experiment (it's easier this way), it won't take long.

Also, to keep your bundle from unwinding, take a wrap around the initial turn to secure the line.

The " loop" you pull on at the end of the procedure can be started shorter than all the others in order to keep things uniform after tightening.

Good tutorial, there.
