I plan on using pastel chalks then sealing - can a fellow member please tell me how to achieve the "blueish" vein lines found on the back of the hands - or even direct me to a tutorial - I have done a search with no succes..

Thanks people
Adam

When I did things like that with miniatures.. all right, with 1/35th miniatures or 1/4th ceramic statutes/bust, all I did was use blue ink (i.e.: dark blue acrylic paint, quite thinned with water) and applied it to the relevant parts where I wanted the veins to show.

Once dry, I went for another coast to enhance the effect and sealed, as I always did this after the basic paint was applied and just to add detail, and with teh paint being so thin, it wasn't that much of a stark contrast to begin with.

Some folks would paint the base color, paint the veins, then use the lighter base color to finish up the model, add lightning to the skin and go for a more "realistic"-looking skin.

My guess is you will want to use a 0/5 or even a 0/10 brush to tackle this one.

I used a felt tip pen and a finger tip to smear it out and soften the edges, then sealed it.

You're welcome.

Just make sure it's a water-based felt tip so if you screw up you can just wet your finger, rub it out and start again.

Then you seal it.
