    How about movie abbreviations, since many of our figures are bashes of characters in movies..........

    WWII Movies

    BofB=Band of Brothers....or....Battle of Britain
    SPR=Saving Private Ryan
    TLD=The Longest Day
    WTF=When Trumpets Fade (no, not that!)
    TRL=Thin Red LIne
    PCH=Pork Chop Hill

    Feel free to add more, of any genre........

    JTF2 Joint Task Force 2 Canadian Special forces.
    ERT Emergency Response Team (That's what the RCMP Calls their SWAT teams)
    ETF Emergency Task Force (That's what Toronto Police call their SWAT team) They like to say it stands for: Extra Tough F***ers others say it stands for Easy To Fool.
    FIDO : F**K it, drive on
    FIIGMO: F**k it, I got my orders.
    GOMER: Get out of my emergency room. (Nurses and paramedics will use this term to denote a difficult patient.)
    Bucket Head: Fire Fighter.

    Sawgunner, military terms like FIBUA (Fighting In Built Up Areas) are ok. But do we really need to know what FUBAR stands for? Just tell them to watch Tango and Cash for that meaning.
